  1. The referenced SetupUI log doesn't appear to indicate any obvious errors and is closing very early on in the process, do you have any anti-virus software installed which could potentially be interfering with the app? If so, it may be worth temporarily pausing this and trying to the install again.

Just to confirm, are there any recent crash reports in the %AppData%\Affinity\Designer\1.0\CrashReports\reports folder?

On the basis that you are using the 'Outer Shadow' FX, this will be rasterized when exporting to PDF as it is not supported in a vector format which could be related, Could you provide us with a sample file and a screenshot of your export settings?

Below is a private dropbox link if you want to upload the file there.

    --------------

Your file contains vector objects, when you export your document to PNG these vector objects will appear blurry/pixelated because PNG is a raster (pixel-based) format. If you want your objects to appear as true vectors in the final export, they will need to be exported in a vector format, such as SVG. If you want to export your file in PNG format, you can make the file less "blurry"/pixelated by increasing the resolution of the image, but when enlarging the image it will still look pixelated because it it is a raster format. Below are some links to help you better understand the file formats.

  4. Hi @abra100pro,

Do you happen to have any sample file that we can use to investigate further? I'm aware you mentioned it happens on many files however it's going to be difficult to replicate this on our side if the issue relates to something else within one of the files that crashed on export. It would also be beneficial if you could send us over a crash report along with a sample file.

Also are you finding the crash occurs when trying to export the file to a specific format? If you could also send a screenshot of your export settings that would be great.

Below is a private dropbox link if you wish to upload them there.

  5. Hi @thetasig,

Text frame scaling, via the text frame handle or through the spread re-scaling are not currently dynamically linked to the text/paragraph style settings, as such it shows as a modified style (the + icon) after scaling has been performed. This has been previously logged with the developers as an improvement.

Regarding the Master pages, they are treated as independent from spreads/normal pages and as such need to be re-scaled separately, this is as intended.

-Some of my Affinity photos files end with afphoto, some with jpg.

Those with afphotos are also in jpg…

    What is the difference ?

Simply put, .afphoto files are the standard native format for Photo files which ensure any objects/layers are kept intact along with guides, margins, masks etc. are all saved on the document.

JPG can be considered an end format ready for final use, any existing objects/layers will be flattened upon exporting.

-I can't remember how I save this files ending with afphotos.

What is the way to do it ?

To save a file in the native .afphoto format, open the Document Menu > Save a Copy, you can then specify the location you want to save the afphoto file.

-And how can one modify afphoto file to jpeg file ?

You can save/export your file as JPG from the Document Menu > Export and choosing the JPG format, more information on exporting is available in the below help guide.

  7. Hi @Dan Cross,

Thanks for sending the file over, I've found that Master A's left and right spread text frames both had the 'Ignore text wraps' checked under the Text > Text Wrap Menu, after unchecking this and then applying the 'tight' text wrap setting to the picture frame on Page 164, this has then correctly wrapped the text contained within the master page frame when moving the image. I had noticed the image on 164 had a picture frame within a picture frame which wasn't necessary and may have been causing some confusion.
