  1. Why 300>225 dpi conversion? Surely you do not mean downsampling... Images stay RGB all the way, Epson will convert to whatever colorscheme it uses.
  2. Excellent question. I started seeing spinning umbrellas when file sizes exceeded 10 GB. (I know, that is a lot, but I am doing exhibition pieces at the moment.) I lowered undo states number a lot, but what other parameters might profit of tweaking? I think AP adjusts parameters according system specs as memory usage settings seem to be inline with physical RAM memory (16 GB). Also, I run out of disk space (I have smallish SSD). Might be better if AP could use also other available disks for cache. MBP i5/16GB/256SSD.
  3. Desktop versions behave as any traditional fonts. Using netbased font resources is different issue, more pressing to web designers, more confusing to print designers.
  4. Rasterize indeed destructively finalizes crop. Maybe it should be made more obvious solution (though you lose scaling/transformation benefits with this one..) Smaller sizes have not much to do destructive edits. Usually when you edit you throw away information and megabytes -- in cropping truly so.
  5. Font management in desktop use is a separate task and Affinity maybe should not do more than support latest font managers. Google fonts etc online resources meant for net applications are different issue. I don't even know if it is possible to use them for normal print work.
  6. While you are at it, also Distribute. Inset. Columns. Ignore Text Wrap. Wait, there is not even Text Wrap in AD... but text frame options would be nice.
  7. A key. You can also just drag&drop a layer from layer palette to other document.
  8. ...I don't know why there even should be margins in pixel app... That should be something handled in printing stage (photo printing) or layout app (graphic design). There probably should be a Printing Persona for it. ...Well, I found out margins is about only setting that is sticky in Photo :-D
  9. There are some rules how barcode must be made it to be machine readable. Preferably it should be vector or 1-bit bitmap graphic. Colours can be used but only as solid as halftoning messes up machine reading, contrast should be high. Scaling may be unadvisable. Etc. Certainly soft greyscale barcode may be worthless. If in doubt your printing house can probably make a working one for you, possibly add one in final PDF or test your file.
  10. You could write to EXIF description but it is rather limited. Better if there were a notes panel in Studio.
  11. Failed to visualize meaning. Can you explain further?
  12. You are asking about cutting path. I think it works as expected when you fill the shape and select "mask to below". (I don't know why you have to fill... possibly because it looks then more like mask, or because there can be transparency?) Export as TIF, EPS should work also.
  13. Affinity apps make perfect previews which display nice in OSX quick look. MediaPro should be able to use them I think.
  14. Are there any other changes but compatibility fixes for OSX 10.11 Sierra?
  15. That flips the whole layer. (Logically it SHOULD flip only the selection.)
  16. I don't get it how stereography is involved but there is a sw called Circular Studio which creates what you want. $30.
  17. It may take over a year before you can take Publisher to production work. I would not make any plans that include timetables AND Publisher. If you need to do magazines at certain time do it in Indy.
  18. I could not figure it out either but you can get around it by cutting the selection, pasting it (creates new layer) and flipping that layer. Seems that basic operations are often hard to do in AP, maybe developers concentrate too much in advanced features..
  19. I would change colour format to greyscale and adjust tones as needed. Export as PDF. Using CMYK setup gets you rich black where K is less than 100% which may complicate things.
  20. Make a copy layer of image Blur it Copy it Make rounded rectangle Paste inside Remove/hide blurred image layer This is not non-destructive of course, sorry; i.e. not repeatable as an effect through all pages without going through process every time.
  21. You know it never occurred to me to use crop tool to extend canvas. It is obvious of course, must be the name that confused me... :-D
  22. No. You can just make bleeds the normal way. You just define bleeds in Document setup and include them in export. The only problem is that there are no visible bleed guides and you cannot make them by hand as there can be no guides outside page. You have to eyeball correct bleed extent (or use graphic help element like 3 mm dimension to adjust elements to bleed trimming area). When there is bleed area included in export AD exports slightly larger version, with bleed elements and wanted printer marks.
  23. I can select 3880 in print-dialog and select color matching and select profile, but confusingly there must be ColorSync selected, not Epson Color Controls which gives no choices (though I have not Epson connected at the moment).
  24. I would think between FCPX, Premiere and Resolve (+ maybe Vegas) market it a bit crowded.
