It's a Pantone palette (.csv) that I installed via the package, into the directory with all the other Pantone palettes. I'm not able to export -- that option is grayed out.

I meant that I want to replace a hyphen that I add with a non-breaking hyphen every time. I have auto hyphenation turned off.
Thanks -- that worked. I did have English selected already and was updating the English autocorrect table. But in that table, when I tried to paste a non-breaking hyphen from an existing document within existing text that had a paragraph style applied, it didn't work. It either would paste nothing (blank), or would paste with all the formatting (in this case, it was a numbered list). I tested it thoroughly before posting here, but of course it's not doing it now...
I created a blank document and added artistic text, left it as [No Style], and inserted a non-breaking hyphen. Copied that, and it worked.

I recently purchased an iPad and wanted to transfer all my color palettes that I have in my desktop version to the programs on the iPad.
But now I had to find out that it is not possible at all to import and export color palettes. This is a great disappointment, because the many color palettes I created, including many very complex gradients and special colors such as HKS, are very important to me for the design and had cost me several days of work.
Please add these functions to import and export color palettes in the iPad versions.

It worked now. I just didn't see a folder but I saw now that you can right click the Affinity Designer icon and select "show package contents". Then you can indeed paste the file in the folder you specified. 
I also sorted the CSV alphabetically so you'll find the Pantone swatches easily.

Every time I create a new asset, I stop and export the assets and import into the other applications, then delete the previous copy. It would be awesome if this was seamless.

I duplicated the file, deleted some proprietary elements, and now it’s all working. I think I figured out what the problem was. I have a background symbol1 and a foreground symbol2. Together, those form symbol3. After duplicating background symbol1 and moving it into x-y position, I also moved it to the lowest layer behind symbol2, which was nested under symbol3.
If I duplicate that instance, it misbehaves: both copies act as a single object, and any changes don’t propagate. 
But if I leave it in place, outside of symbol3, it’s fine. So I can duplicate and move to form the whole background (100 copies), then nest it under symbol3. 
Strange, but maybe working as designed? In any case, thank you for your help!

I’m wondering if this is closer to possible now with 1.9, since you can log in and see your library of purchases.

I wasn’t sure if the option to automatically download new content could work. Or if something similar could be written to allow for local libraries, since I’m sure they don’t want to have to store everyone’s files in the cloud. It would be awesome to have this, and would blend in well with the seamless persona feature. 

I recreated my doc in 1.8 this weekend. I was able to save it as a template in 1.9, and open as a new file (still in 1.9). That allowed me to delete all the images without hanging, and copy/paste the text into 1.8.

We are 5-7 days behind on some support responses sorry. I'm sure your thread will be addressed soon. Thanks for your perseverance, it is appreciated.

This does not seem to work when applying to a field. My field disappears.
