andrewere Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I use AF for 2D line drawings, nothing complicated and I don't use layers. I can't find the eraser tool. It's not in the toolbar or customise toolbar. Any help would be appreciated. Quote

On the off chance that AF means Affinity Designer then you have no erase tool in the Draw Persona but you do have one in the Pixel Persona. scottf Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Hi, I am brand new to Affinity Designer and have also been looking for the erase tool. I'm confused, what is Pixel Persona, is it a totally different app or a tool within AD? If within AD where do I find it please? Thanks Scott Quote
Staff MEB Posted March 19, 2019 Staff Posted March 19, 2019 Hi scottf, Welcome to Affinity Forums You can think of Personas as different workspaces within the application for specific tasks. Designer Persona is where all vector based tools are located. Pixel Persona is where you will find all raster based tools like the (raster based) Erase Brush Tool - currently there's no vector based eraser tool in Designer Persona. Finally the Export Persona is where you create/manage slices to export as independent files. You can switch between Personas clicking the icons on the top left of the interface. scottf Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Hi MEB, Thanks for the quick response. Great found it. Next question, I ma trying to make a small icon to add to my project. It will be printed on a banner and needs to be 300dpi and CMYK, all is good in the project so far, text, background gradient etc but this small icon I've done using the heart shape and some tools is not coming out at 300dpi and CMYK even though that is what I have the project file set to. Can you please advise how I ensure all my assets I place in a project are 300dpi and CMYK? Thanks Scott I was going to attached the .afdesign project file but it saying its zero kb?? where are the actual files stored please? Quote

Were you trying to attach the file whilst you still had it open? Try saving and closing it first. John Quote Windows 11, Affinity Photo 2.4.2 Designer 2.4.2 and Publisher 2.4.2 (mainly Photo). scottf Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Hi John, No it was closed, but Affinity Design was open. It is a very small project. I will add to this message and see what is uploaded. Cheers heart-ldoc.afdesign John Rostron 1 Quote

FWIW, I tried opening your file in both Affinity Designer 1.6 & the 1.7 customer beta but both display a 'file type not supported' message, not surprising because the downloaded file size is zero bytes. This suggests the file is corrupted. Can you open it on your system?
