John Hodge Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 How can I view/edit a 2-page spread? i.e., facing pages. Quote
fde101 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 If you already have one, double-click on it in the Pages studio. If you checked Facing Pages when creating the document and only have one page right now, create 2 or more new pages first (one of the icons along the top of the pages section in the Pages studio). I believe the option to switch to a facing pages document if you created it otherwise is in Spread Setup (make sure nothing is selected and look at the context toolbar while the move tool is enabled) - but I don't have it in front of me at the moment; it might be in Document Setup instead... Also, one of many very useful tips I have found in these forums is that if your computer screen is wide enough to accommodate them, after you have added the facing pages to your Pages Studio, you can then click on the center of the facing pages thumbnail and you will have both of the document pages on your screen at the same time. I use that quite a lot, especially when looking at the placement aesthetics of text and images. John Hodge Posted January 28, 2019 Author Posted January 28, 2019 Thanks for your helps guys. I'm working on a 32 page magazine right now in PagePlus X9, exported it as a PDF, imported it into AP to try to get to grips with AP. I assume the Pages Studio is next to Assets at the top left. I'm using a 30" display and do all my work in PP on a 2-page facing pages spread. I can't find anywhere in AP that points to Facing Pages. How do I add Facing Pages spread to AP with an imported PDF? I can't see me ever switching to AP over PP at this rate. Hold on... I'v just found it in Document Setup. Progress at last. Thanks for your help. jmwellborn 1 Quote

There may be a bit of a learning curve with Publisher for some (like me) who had used other publishing applications, because it has so many sophisticated features that are either new or differently organized, but if you will stick with it, and ask any questions you have on these forums, you will find that the Affinity staff and users with long experience (not me!) will be wonderfully helpful. I really love it and cannot wait for the release version!! Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD storage, Ventura 13.6.7. walt.farrell Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Note that this is very similar to: The document is broken in some way, as it is not supposed to be possible to have both Artboards and pages in the same document. I respectfully suggest that any further discussion should take place in that other topic, rather than here. Mita Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 I'm currently on the trial and so far I like it. I created my book in Word. There are 179 pages. I've imported but also can't locate how to do facing pages. This is vital in me purchasing this program. I do like it but if I have to redo my book in the program it will not work. Thank you for any help you can give me. Quote
