Another place to share work.

Hi all, not sure if there will be any interest in this since Flickr isn't as popular as it once was but I have set up a group there this morning, for sharing work. Primarily for Designer and Publisher but Photo would be welcome too. You can find the group at https://www.flickr.com/groups/affinitysuite/

Currently the icon and cover photo are my images but I hope those will change if/when we get some members and content!

I know that in some ways it's a duplicate of this secxtion of the forums but it has the advantage of allowing a gallery look to the images.

Hope there might be some interest in this!

Phil

I thought flickr was all about pure photography?

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

These are not my own words but I sure like this quote.

I believe it was originally all about pure photography, but nowadays there are scrapbook pages, vector drawings, digital paintings and scanned pages of old books. I suppose the later counts as a kind of photography, but the others certainly don't.

Have a look at "ello".

Everything from pen&ink sketches through architecture, street, and if you must porn like stuff.

World wide site and growing. Very arty, free to use, no ads (except third party) on posters pages.

Jobs are getable and work can end up (if chosen) in publications all over world.

https://ello.co/235tricks

My pages - not a lot - but have look round. Good (dreaded word) inspiration for those who need that sort of thing ;-)

Yeah Yahoo does suck and I don't have anything to do with them either. However SmugMug recently bought Flickr. Whether they're any more trustworthy I don't know but certainly can't be worse.

I use Smugmug for all my photo sharing with clients (I am a photographer by profession) as well as having made my site through their system. I love them dearly and they have the greatest Help desk I have ever come across. I have loved Flickr since 2003 and have never received any spam or had any problem with them when they're under Yahoo or now that there owned by Smugmug. I also used to always use Yahoo mail and that worked very well too. I understand that my personal experience does not negate bad behaviour which others have experienced. I just thought I'd mention it!

That's good to know about SmugMug but there's no getting around how awful Yahoo/Oath are, breaches and lack of privacy. But everyone can use what they want. Anyway I've added a few of my AD car pics to the gallery for a starter, I can bore some new people with them!

I need to go take a look! And of course, I'm sure you're right about Yahoo. The same could be said of Facebook, Google, Amazon et cetera et cetera. We all dance with the devil or some such!
