Hi, I'm trying to join this shape but AD shows me the Union loading and loading. So I had to divide the shapes and remove the pieces I didn't need then join the shapes using the add tool. What is exactly the problem in AD?

I apologize for my comment about Adobe cracked software, it's one of the reason I got Designer and plan on getting Photo and Publisher to move away from illegal copies.

I could afford a $$$ software, if it didn't chain me to producing a continual revenue stream. So I don't.

From what I can tell from the screen shot, the shapes are not quite perfectly aligned. Affinity is rather fussy about that. Very very small variances will produce object artifacts. Dividing, and wiping those out is one resolution. Selecting the nodes manually and deleting is also often doable. If in node tool mode, individual curves will have a red node dot associated w. the singular curves.

I should've mentioned that it's not only the insane low price but also how clean and easy the ui is in Affinity.

Anyway, I started with this common shape and I expanded the stroke then used the divide tool to remove the pieces I didn't need. Is it maybe the divide that causes the problem?

Zoom in on the centre of the shape like this

Now expand the Stroke: Layer > Expand Stroke

Now do a boolean Divide Layer > Geometry > Divide

What you end up with is a mess of shapes.

Have you tried just Using Boolean Add: Layer > Geometry > Add and if you need to remove bits use the Divide option after the Layer > Geometry > Add

So the sequence would be.

  1. Create the shapes and arrange to suit your desired design
  2. Select all of the shapes and expand the stroke: Layer > Expand Stroke
  3. Now use: Layer > Geometry > Add
  4. If Necessary use: Layer > Geometry > Divide to remove elements of the design you don't want
