Hey, new to AD/AP fo about a week. Trying to get my skills to where they should be by looking at tutorials and such...

Just wondering how I can turn half a face into a skull such as the attachment

It looks to me like an artist skilled in photo-realistic painting styles added the skull part as a layer overlaid on a photo layer. You could do that with AP if you have those skills.

If like me, you do not, you might try finding a suitable photo of a skull, erasing part of it & adding that as a layer over a photo of a face.

  1. Find a picture of a face and skull you want to use
  2. Open the skull picture
  3. Place the face picture on top of the skull picture
  4. Lower the opacity of the face picture, to say 50%, so you can just see the skull below it.
  5. Align the face picture so the eyes, nose, mouth, etc aligns with those features on the skull.
  6. Reset the opacity of the face picture back to 100%
  7. Using the erase brush tool, start erasing the face where you want the skull to show through (use a brush with 0% hardness)

Due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now our Prime Minister, punctuation, spelling and grammar will never be worried about ever again.  We now have far bigger problems to be worried about.
