FunForChu02
I am having A LOT of issues with downloading, installing, and signing into my account!!!!! There a 3 BIG issues: 1.) I bought Affinity Designer for PC today as someone who registered and used the software during the Beta. I paid for it and got the license key, but I can't open the file type. The file is called "affinity-designer-1.5.036[1}" and the file type is "36[1] File {.36[1]}." What do I have to do to open it? 2.) I can't sign into my account and had to create this account to post in the forum and I don't understand why. I am talking about the account to sign into Affinity main website. I tried to reset my password, but there where no emails sent to me for further instructions and I tried several times! 3.) When trying to create this forum account, I accidently mistyped my email and now have to use FunForChu02. Is there a way to reclaim FunForChu username when the mistyped email probably doesn't exist? I really wound prefer to keep my accounts and brand consistent. I wished that there was a second confirmation email slot when typing in your email like the password. Which I find odd that Affinity does not have. 4.) Is there an actual email or contact information where I can get help with someone directly? Thank you for taking the time to look at this. It is greatly appreciated if anyone can help! Marla
Alfred
1. The file should end in .exe (just like other executable files). If you can't see filename extensions in File Explorer, go to the View tab and put a tick in the 'File name extensions' checkbox so that you can replace the [1] with the .exe that belongs there.* 3. If you go to your User CP, you can change both your display name and your email address. The email for reactivating your account is sent to the new address, so it shouldn't matter if the old address doesn't actually exist. *Come to think of it, file name extensions are only ever hidden for known file types. Since [1] is not a known file type, it will always be visible. Mark Ingram
What browser did you use? Did you just click the link? Moving to the non-beta forum.

Beetle
I confirm that this is working. Just rename the file to "affinity-designer-1.5.0.36.exe Press OK on "Accept that the file is changing, and may not used again". If there is some doubt. Just make a copy of the original downloaded file, when doing this. It converts to exe file with the logo. And runs perfect install. Staff Patrick Connor Posted November 18, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 18, 2016 For others reading this thread we have found a cause and should be able to roll out a solution next week. In the meantime, the cause is a bug in Windows 7 when using Internet Explorer. This combination is capable of stripping file extension off files when links are followed by parameters. The easiest solution is to add the .EXE back on the file or to download with a different browser Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program!
