My latest illustration (yeah, I know....another moth! 🙄). Reminds me of my youth, when my brother and I used to seek out butterflies and moths.

Done in Designer v2.5.7 and the Pixel Persona.

Thank you, Stuart. They're beautiful, so I probably will do a few more.

Absolutely love the textures.

Thanks, Danny. I like using texture overlays, (procedural textures or bitmaps), especially with moths and butterflies, to accentuate the iridescence and "cells" in their wings. I find it adds a lot, and helps break up the vector look.

I am into entomology as well. Bugs are cool. My favorite is Order Mantodea. Is this a digital painting? I can't tell. It looks like a photograph of a real Sphinx spp.

Yes, created using Affinity Designer, Pixel Persona and a few things done in Photo. I’m glad it “fooled” you. 😁

Your Sphinx moth illustration looks amazing, Ldina! The textures and details make it feel so real. I love how you’ve added those natural touches to make it stand out. Looking forward to seeing more of your art
