Greetings to all,

I see that some users are reporting issues with this windows version, but what is the overall concensus?
Are you experiensing any issues with the Affinity Apps? Given the minimal support we are getting I'm hesitant to upgrade.

Thank you!

I upgraded one Win 11 laptop  to 24H2 and experienced problems with my local LAN. I couldn't join it or have the laptop show up on any other laptop. Consequently I rolled back to 23H2. LAN access problem solved. You have 10 days to roll back seamlessly. After that, it's a pain. As a result, I turned off all Windows updates for a year. I'm confident enough in my security software and abilities to wait for a solution.

As to problems with the Affinity products and 24H2, I didn't run 24H2 to try to do anything with it after I couldn't get on my LAN.

Further to this post, on February 6, I again updated a Dell laptop to 24H2, with the same results. I have now locked both of my remaining Dells at 23H2 until the end of eternity. To solve the LAN access problem, at the end of December I quite happily added a Mac Pro 14-inch laptop to my writing inventory. It is now my daily driver for everything, since the Affinity Products and my writing software runs on it. In fact, every bit of software I need will run on it. I even picked up cheap copy of MS Word/Excel 2021 from stacksocial.

I upgraded to Windows 11 a couple of weeks ago. The only issue I've had was with the UI of my scanning software (some of the buttons/icons not showing). After a quick "Google" I downloaded a scanning app from Microsoft, just having that installed (without having to use it) has fixed the problem.

Some things are a bit different, or in a different place, as you'd expect when upgrading, but generally I quite like Windows 11.

Upgrading to 24H2 appeared to have caused Affinity Photo 2 to cause a complete system hang for me (Windows would become unresponsive and I'd have to power cycle the system), and no error logs would be created by Windows or Affinity.

I couldn't reliably reproduce the steps leading to the hangups but it seemed to always occur when trying to execute a task like resizing, noise generation, filters, etc.

So far from other users it sounds like it's very likely Hardware OpenCL Acceleration related, and possibly specifically for Nvidia GPUs. Disabling HW acceleration seems to resolve the issue but of course with a big performance penalty.

The problem stopped completely when I rolled back to 23H2 as I was within the 10 day rollback window, but many people might be past this point by now. This happened to me in mid December, so a fix on the Windows end may have been pushed in an update by now, but I haven't been able to check and test yet.

I had the same problem. The system froze and I was unable to do pretty much anything at that point. I even didn't bother with disabling HW acceleration, since it has happened right after the system update. I also rolled back to 23H2 and I've got no issues whatsoever since then.

I recommend updating graphics cards and system drivers after upgrading to 24H2 if you have not already done so.
