I think there might be a regression happening. In the last update we had better support for networking and cloud storage and seemed to work well. Since yesterday we are getting errors saving and files are damaged or say "not correct file type" when attempting to open. So far these are all in AFPUB files on the Mac OS 15.1.1.

Here is one of the errors:image.jpeg.c76c982000cde434b7eae1868e23b19c.jpeg

That might be the case but we didn't have any issues until the update so my logical conclusion would be to go back to the last one, if not, we'll try the previous one. There wasn't much time between .6 and .7 and that means you could very well be right. I'm just not sure what to make of these errors or is something else changed but we didnt' upgrade to 15.2 yet

This error has been reported a few times over the years. Once a staff member suggested clearing user data and the user reported that it solved their problem so you could try that. Start the app with Ctrl held down and then clear the selected items. Save your studio setup as a preset first so that you can restore it easily if it solves nothing.

Cheers

Error when trying to open the files that didn't get errors when saving.

We went back now to 2.2.5.6 and restarted the computer to see if the problem continues.

Does holding down ctrl reset for the mac?

Yes. It is one of the rare times that Control on PC is also Control, not Command, on Mac.

Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

As often said, working on clouddrives like dropbox or whatever is a bad idea.

Did you try to download the file to a folder not synced to the Cloud?

Yes, issues here, too:

Color profile has gone wonky - it defaulted to grayscale. NOT what I want, as I work mainly in color. For some reason, it doesn't always stay in a color profile.

.abr files fail to open.

Color picker - eye droppers are not working in multiple tools.

Hoping I don't come across more. ;)

This is as of 12/14 in U.S. How do I go back to previous version for Mac, please?

Annnd, update. I was/am still working on an image, and Affinity Photo quit. No warning. :( MOST of my work saved, thank goodness, but still...

You can download the previous versions using these links, but I don't think there were any changes in 2.5.6 or 2.5.7 that could account for the issue you're experiencing.

This is not on the cloud. Though, I seem to have less problems on the cloud than to a server. It only seems to be one computer now that is having the issues. We'll keep watching it.

Adding another possible issue:

When using the eraser, for some reason the opacity, while showing 100%, is, in fact, lighter than that. I have to switch the brush to one in the Basic brush set (one that comes with AP), then switch back to the brush I was originally using, and sometimes that works to put the opacity at 100%. This happens to most any brushes I use. All brush settings can be at 100%, but still getting a lighter opacity, which means I have to make several strokes to make the object completely disappear.

Using AP 2.5.7 on Mac Studio.

This could be caused by the Wet Edges checkmark option on the Context toolbar.
