Hi @rvsf,

As far as i'm aware if you're using the numpad this will insert a decimal dot regardless of the Windows region settings used, and this isn't specific to Affinity.

However, you could use an app like AutoHotkey to create a script which re-maps the numpad dot key to a comma. For example I created a .AHK file and then edited the script and added 'NumpadDot::,' then ran it. This then swapped the numpad dot to a comma which could then be used in Affinity to insert a decimal comma. The script does need re-running when Windows starts, but it can just be added into the shell:startup folder.

Sorry, not true.

I use german Windows-settings and a german keyboard
(which of course has a comma printed on the key on the numpad).

All 3 Affinity-applications correctly display a comma when I press the comma-key on the numpad.

Whether a numeric keypad on a keyboard has a comma or a period (decimal point) is regionally dependent. The variations include:

  • Europe (except the UK) : Comma (,)
  • UK and USA: Period (.)
  • Latin America: Often comma (,), but can vary
  • Asia: Can vary, often period (.)

Sorry probably should've been more clear in my reply, yes of course using keyboard layout in Windows which has the comma in place of the point on the numpad this will work. My point was in reference to changing this specific region format setting under control panel doesn't automatically change the numpad decimal separator shown in OP's original screenshot.image.png

Evidently if I switch my Windows Keyboard layout to a German layout this will change the numpad decimal to a comma, however this wasn't/isn't the case with a Spanish  Keyboard layout which prompted the workaround advice to swap the key.

Fingers crossed!

Just as a follow up on this, we do also have an improvement logged internally for the app  numpad decimal key input to always honour the system's decimal separator character set in the Windows Region settings so hopefully this will be possible in a future version of the apps without the need to use any AHK/Keyboard manager utility or switch the keyboard input. 🙂

There is also a bug/request regarding support of decimal key on numpad on ipads, perhaps worth investigating if there is some kind of code overlap; always good idea to fix something related in one go.

Ireland (Éire) is also on the list of exceptions.
