Affinity Photo V.1 - How to fix lining/space lining issues?

Recommended Posts

Whenever I enter my text into the frame text tool and enable the justify left option, I find that some parts of my text become very airy/spacey.  Does anyone know a way to fix this?

The first thing to try is to switch Auto-hyphenation ON – Paragraph Panel, Hyphenation section (or in Edit Style) – and see what happens.

If that doesn’t give good enough results then we would need to see what it looks like and what parts of the resultant text you don’t like.

Note: There are some existing problems with auto-hyphenation in certain languages. You can check the forums for more information about that.

Here is a list of "fixes" from XKCD https://xkcd.com/1676/ .

Myself, I recall using 'Filler' most often back in my newspaper days, followed by'Giving up". 'Hyphenation' was always on.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Off topic, I love the ‘alt’ text in XKCD webcomics!

Gonna start bugging the Unicode consortium to add snake segment characters that can be combined into an arbitrary-length non-breaking snake.
