Curious Case of a Missing File (2.2.0-1971)

Recommended Posts

When opening more than 1 file (in my case 8 in the video below) there is always a one file missing from the tab display. The missing file is alway a random file.

Firstly, the files open in random order (which I'd prefer to be in the Finder order), and

Secondly, one file is never displayed as a tab but is still there. I have to close all the tabs to get to the missing/invisible file.

This could be MacOSX bug only.

Please see the video below.

If there are too many files to display, there should be a drop down arrow to the right of the tabs. It's not that obvious, so maybe difficult to see.

Are you on a Mac? I remember that was the case in earlier betas. This must be Mac specific as the arrow is missing in the lates beta.

I would also expect all windows to be added to the Window Menu as in other apps.

They should load in order of how fast they will open (roughly) - there is already an existing feature request to make them load in order selected in Finder/Explorer which would be preferable.

As the others have said, click the chevron icon to see the missing documents. Edit - I've just reviewed your video again and it does look as though the chevron is not there. What version of macOS are you on? It's definitely there in 2.2.0.1971 for me on macOS Ventura.

Thanks @Chris B for looking into this.

I'm on Ventura 13.6 (22G109) (I think it's Beta 7).

Do you also have all the files listed in the Windows Menu link like in the post of @Return?

I don't get that either.

The issue "[Mac] Dragging multiple documents into the app fails to show the document tab bar" (REF: PD-941) has been fixed by the developers in internal builds "2.2.0.1971 & 2.2.0.1986".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
