Hangman
Hi @DrThomson, What happens if you try to open the PDF in Affinity Photo, do you see the same issue? If so, what happens if you try re-exporting the original file to a new PDF and then opening it in a PDF reader and/or opening it in other software? thomaso
Can you open the PDF in a PDF reader app or in a browser window? If yes, can upload a sample PDF that causes this error message in other software? MikeW
@DrThomson Try unchecking the box for Use Advanced Features, or something like that. Working from memory so the box may be named differently.

Working from memory so the box may be named differently. It is "Allow advanced features" but I have not seen use of this option to cause errors mentioning corruption with apps other than CorelDRAW. But whenever having text and/or vectors within PDF, and using this option, all CorelDRAW versions I have tried (including the latest) fail Affinity created PDFs with this error message. But I have not experienced this problem with Photoshop (any version) so it may be that the cause for the error is something else than using this export option. Ron P.
FWIW, I was able to open PDF files from AP in PSP 2023. I also tried in PhotoPaint, and was not able to. It threw a circular error. It rejected opening the file and told me to try Importing it. Trying Import, I got an error that told me to try opening. Is that true for any PDF exported from AP or are there some that throw errors & others that don't? I didn't test every possible PDF export option. I did test PDF/X4, which had the Use advance features selected, and then the PDF/X-1a-2003. Also I just used a CR2 image for my test. Ron P.
Ok done a quick test. This is what I done and my findings. Keep in mind, there's absolutely nothing scientific about this. Done on a Windows 10 machine. Using the same image, which was a CR2 file that was Rasterized so that I would be exporting a Pixel layer/image, I ran down the list of PDF options in the Export dialog. This provided 7 PDF files. I then attempted to open each in CDGS 2017. I received the File is Corrupt error for all except for the X/3-2003. CDGS was able to open this file.Next I then tested using my browser, Firefox, and was able to open/view all the PDF files. Finally using PSP 2023, I was able to open all the PDF files.
