Shadows/highlight

I use very much AP but I am not an expert and miss the Shadows/highlight Adobe function, infinitely better than Affinity's one.

I understand that an expert can achieve the same result using more complex tools, but still now I am forced to use this function from an old Photoshop elements, that I own, but this is very time consuming.

Have someone some suggestion to obtain the same results in a simple way, i.e., not relying on more complex tools?

It would help to have a file as a starting point, and an ending example of what you wanted.

Also, the way you've asked the question, anyone wanting to try to answer needs to understand what PS Elements provided, and how you're using it. So some screenshots or a video of what you did there might also help.

Photoshops Shadows and highlights are full fat compared to Affinity's Low cal variety.

Trying to document the problem I think I understood it. The point is that I was using the Adjustment Layer Shadow/Highlights, that produces very bad results.When you try to reduce the shadows beyond a certain point, the colors become flat and not natural.

I tried with the Filter/Shadows/Highlights and that allows me to obtain far better results. I lose the repeatability in this way but it is not a big problem for me.

Don't forget to switch to 1.6 which provides more setting options.
