elipse grainy edges

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm rather new to Affinity Designer (few weeks now) .

Whenever i draw an elipse, it results (on my screen and in the export) in grainy edges.   Far from smooth.

Perhaps i overlook a setting?  But witch one?

regards from the Netherlands,

Bernard

Welcome to the forums @bernardflach

What you are seeing could be caused by a number of different things, but we need more information to properly diagnose what’s happening.

Can you give us a full-screen screenshot so we can see more of what you are working with?
Make sure that the ‘problem layer’ is selected and that layer can also be seen in the Layers Panel.

Would you be able to supply the document (or one cut-down to only that layer) also?

Here's the ful-screenshot and the document.  I'm pretty shure i'm missing something here.
Hope it's not a "Dohhhh" moment :)

(If that’s your full screen then you have a strange monitor set-up.)

Thanks for sharing the document.

You have Pixel View Mode switched on. Go to the main Tool bar at the top of the window and press the sixth button from the left.

Why do i have a strange monitor setup if i may ask?

I’m not Garry (obviously!) but your “full screen” screenshot is much wider than it is tall, and there are no window buttons (Minimize, Maximize/Restore, and Close) visible in the top right-hand corner.

I took a manual screenshot. I leave those buttons out of the screenshot. :)

It's best not to omit anything :)

When someone asks for a full screen screenshot it is best not to leave out anything to avoid confusion.

BTW, it looks like you left out more than just those buttons because there should be more things showing along the bottom & along the right edge than you included. Consequently, we can't see every tool in the Tools panel, the Status bar, or anything that might be in your right studio, if you have anything in it.

Thanks for the pointer (s,). :) The next time I'll do a full screenshot. Thanks 🙏👍👍
