Studio Link - 3rd Party Photoshop Plugins

Recommended Posts

How would that work? Publisher doesn’t support Photoshop plugins, so I don’t see how it could be expected to make them available via its StudioLink feature.

But it has the Photo Persona, and the Photo Persona of the Photo application supports them. It is thus a missing function in the Photo Persona of Publisher which logically could/should be there.

Doesn’t the Photo Persona of Affinity Photo only support plugins because they plug in to the app containing that persona? If it can be argued that Publisher ‘contains’ the personas which are available via StudioLink, it seems logical to me that Publisher itself would need to provide support for plugins.

Well, none of the other Personas deal with Filters, so one could equally say it's the Photo Persona that has the plug-in capability, in my opinion. And the menu items are owned/controlled by the Personas.

But it’s clear that the Photo persona *doesn’t* inherently have that capability, otherwise it would be there when Publisher … er … plugs into it.

Why does publishers photo persona show plugins at the bottom of the filters menu, is this just a placeholder for when this feature is available?

Any Plug ins you install will / should show up there.

Affinity Photo does not ship with any Plug Ins.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

But, if I remember correctly, unlike Photo, Publisher's Settings don't let you configure a Plugins directory.

I have google Nik collection which works in Photo and shows up via filters/plugins, but nothing shows in Pub photo persona, and as walt says Publisher's Settings don't let you configure a Plugins directory, so what's the point of having plugins in photo persona when you can't set them up and pub doesn't use photos plugins settings?

In the Windows version "Plugins" doesn't even show. After Haze Removal there's nothing more.

Must be a mac UI issue, although, plugins is also in the filters menu of Pub V1 - real shame if it is a UI mistake as I use Pub (studiolink) for 95% of my stuff and just use Photo to develop Raws and very very rarely have a need to open Designer, so would be really handy - fingers crossed plugins may be available in the future?
