Updated v2 Desktop Online Help localization bug ...

Recommended Posts

For me the ADe/Aph/APub v2 Online Help system for Desktop apps has a localization bug in showing up as default the wrong user browser/system language via/in the bottom left language choice popup menu. - AFAI can see only the V2 Desktop apps Online Help is affected here, the iPad and older v1 online helps are not affected from this.

Here it should be "Deutsch" as default for me instead of "English (UK)" for every V2 Desktop online help ...

To me only AD2 + APh2 are affected, while the APub2 help opens with the menu item "Deutsch".

Weird, I just removed the according sites (affin.co / affinity.help) from the browser history / cache … and now also APub2 opens with "English (UK)" while "Deutsch" can't get set, although the content is shown in German, as in AD2 and APh2.

Hey all,

I've logged this with the Documentation team for investigation, After changing my Regional/Language setting to Italian, clearing my browser cache/history and then restarting, both the Language option and the dropdown menu still show English (UK).

FWIW, for me, from the https://affinity.help page, all of the links always open to the UK English version. I have not found a way to convince it to use the US version by default.

It's been unclear to me in this discussion whether people have been changing their System language settings, or their Browser language settings. The Browsers I have used on Windows can be set to something specific, or can be set to use the System language.

I am not aware of any relevant language settings for Safari, the browser I use for those links. My primary "preferred" System language is US English, with UK English as a second 'preferred' language, but I think that should not have anything to do with this, since it affects only what is seen in menus, dialogs, & date, time, & currency formats.
