Transferring Affinity Photo to my new computer. (split)

@PintOfHarp

There is no need to de-register software in the way you suggest, your license will allow you to install on as many machines of the OS type you bought as you personally control.

I assume you are referring to V1 licenses, if so,  you can move all V1 work into V2, it's not backwards compatible though, so V2 files won't open in V1.

Hi there,

I'm wanting to know the same thing but I'm not sure the answer here posted is correct. How do we transfer the old Affinity photo 1 app to the new computer please? Im not wanting to transfer the files from it. Just the app please.  I thought this was what the above question was but the answer is about transferring V1 files to V2.

Do I need a serial number to install onto my new computer please?

Thanks :)

For V1, you download the application from the Store where you originally purchased, and then install on the new computer. If you purchased from the Serif Affinity Store originally then you download from your account at https://affinity.store/account/downloads where, after signing in, you will find the download links and the email address and serial number you'll need when installing.

If you purchased from the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store you can find additional instructions in this FAQ. It's a little trickier for them, but should still be possible.

Thank you so much. I ended up upgrading to V2 though as I had to do things in a hurry :)

If you really don’t need what Affinity Photo 2 has to offer, your purchase is covered by a 14-day money back guarantee as long as you bought the app from the Affinity Store (i.e. not the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store). But it’s a good upgrade!

Hi, I have a licence for the mac version but now don't have access to a mac computer. I now only use a windows laptop, am I entitled to a free download of the windows version as it is the only platform that I will be using going forward

Thank you

Paul

@Pke1 welcome to the forums.

Singlel licenses can only be used on the platform (MacOS, iOS, Windows) for which they were purchased.

Only the universal license has no platform restrictions.

Thank you for your reply,

I'm disappointed as I would of thought that it would have been allowed as long as you only used one platform at any one time.

Time to look at other software for me now.

The purchase information for the individual version 2 programs clearly states: Start today with a Windows or Mac version for a one-off purchase price...

I'm pretty sure this was also the case with version 1.

So you have succumbed to your own misconception.
