felipe_g Posted April 13, 2023 Posted April 13, 2023 I use the resource manager a lot, is it not possible to make it a window that is dock-able, just like the layers window, channels etc? Also would be great if its position could also be saved with your layout preset, as it disappears when you restart Affinity Thanks! olofdimdag, MickRose and PaoloT 2 1 Quote Windows 11 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, B550M Aorus Elite MB, 64GB RAM, MSI RTX3060 12GB Affinity Photo V2
Old Bruce Posted April 13, 2023 Posted April 13, 2023 We can assign a Keyboard shortcut to show the Resource Manager, unfortunately this won't work as a toggle so to get rid of it we need to hit the Keyboard Shortcut key again to bring it to the front (be active) and then hit the Esc key to close it. felipe_g Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 Maybe it doesnt need to be dockable, but atleast be able to be saved open and as part of your layout Quote Windows 11 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, B550M Aorus Elite MB, 64GB RAM, MSI RTX3060 12GB Affinity Photo V2
MikeTO Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Agreed, I think the Resource Manager would be great as a dockable panel. I wouldn't use it myself due to screen space but I can see why others would want this. olofdimdag 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
felipe_g Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 I use it all the time. We work with 3D renders that are constantly changing and the feature to auto-update linked layers is a real time saver. It needs to be part of my UI layout Quote Windows 11 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, B550M Aorus Elite MB, 64GB RAM, MSI RTX3060 12GB Affinity Photo V2
olofdimdag Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 (edited) Speaking of shoutcuts, why not create a shortcut that automatically update all linked content at once without the need of opening the Resource Manager window? (in order to save screen space) Edited March 13, 2024 by olofdimdag Quote

Rocketdrive Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 Basically every collection of widgets that has non-modal functionality and has to be accessed repeatedly during work (=every palette) should be dockable. Latens and JamBoots 2 Quote
