Publisher Feature Request: Adding your own name to pages in the Pages panel.

I would like to be able to add my own name in the Pages panel to existing names Page 1, Page 2 ...
If we create a dozen or several dozen pages, it is easier to find logically signed pages, not just Page 1 or other.

This should be done exactly as you would now add your own names to objects in the Layers panel.

+1. This would also be super helpful for those times in publisher when you need to export all of the pages in a Publisher document as images (not a single PDF). Currently it uses the name of the Publisher file along with a page number, but being able to specify a page name to be used instead would be really useful.

Have you considered using a document made with Artboards rather than Pages for that scenario? Publisher can do either, if you also own Designer.

Yes, but pages are the best construct for what I'm working on. If I wanted to use artboards I'd work in Designer.

I think if pages can be named it has to be part of a redesign of the section manager. The problem with naming absolute pages is the same as starting sections on an absolute page number - content can flow automatically in a page layout app.

I realize for certain use cases this isn't an issue - perhaps you don't flow text between frames in which case it would work fine. But imagine somebody who named a page Fruits and then found that the page contained Vegetables because the text reflowed.

All right. But what's stopping you from still being able to add a page name?
He thinks it would behave exactly the same way in the layer panel. The name of the layer can be changed, and if, for example, a new layer is added, the order of the previously named layer will change, although the word Layer 1, Layer 2 is not shown in the layers.
In the Pages panel, if, for example, Page 3 is named "Page 3 Apple" and we add 1 page before it, we will get - "Page 4 Apple".
It is important that the content of a given page is assigned to the given name.
Of course if the design is used for flowing text on pages then I would rather not use the page name.
But I'd love to have that opportunity.
In my day-to-day work at Publisher, this would be very, very useful to me. I work in the advertising industry.

I think you misunderstood me. If each page has its own text frames which are not linked, then of course inserting a page before a named page will keep the name attached to the right page.

But if you have 500 pages in your book and all of them have frames that are linked together, naming a page would cause confusion, because editing the text will reflow the text from page to page. If you name page 189 to "cats" and the "cats" text flows automatically to page 191, the page label will be associated with the wrong page.

Who doesn't want to name the page, doesn't name it.

i've been working on a several hundred pages project (no, it wasn't a book, but a complex project with dozens of different chapters) in Publisher, and i really missed the possibility to name pages and sections.

woudl also be nice to see sections in the page list

You can name sections in v1 and v2 but unfortunately they don't appear in the Pages panel. It would be nice to have collapsible sections in the panel.
