a screenshot would help us to understand what is going on and provide advice.

Do not close the file. Instead, save the file with history, and let is stay open.

You should then activate the "history panel", include this in the screen shot.

Which App are you using, designer or photo?

Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3

Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

Press tab on your keyboard?

That shouldn't be it, because the Status Bar and Tools are present.

Perhaps View > Studio > Show Studio or something else in that menu.

You have accidentally activated View > Studio > Hide Studio.

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

tried deleting AF photo and reinstalling but still the same problem

Because such issues have nothing to do with the application itself. Application settings are always stored outside the Applications folder in various support folders, mostly in your Home folder, inside the usually invisible Library folder.

got it back by resetting studio

Yeah, that's also a method if everything else fails… :)

Which is why different user accounts on the same computer can have different application settings & preferences -- each account's home folder stores those things independently of any other user's stuff.

So the only time reinstalling an app will do anything useful is when some component of that app is corrupted or missing.

Perhaps Window > Studio > Show Right Studio is unchecked.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
