G'MIC Plug-in (current release 3.1.6) doesn't run (start) in Affinity Photo V2 neither in the official version (2.0.3.1688) nor in the beta version (2.0.3.1670).

Works for me, too. Win11 x64 Photov2 203. I didn't have to reinstall Gmic. It came over as part of the V2 original upgrade and the 203 update.

Unfortunately, for me doesn't run with any V2 release and works properly with V1.

Now I have only copied G'MIC files into C:\Users\UserName\.affinity\Photo\2.0 and 2.0(Beta)\Plugins. In Anffinity Photo, in Prferences -> Photoshop Plugins, Option 'Allow "Unknown" plugins to be used' is selected (marked). Plugin is visible in menu Filters->Plugins. Only doesn't run 😞

Where should I copy G'MIC files or how to install it in V2?

Are you trying to apply it to a Pixel layer, or to some other kind of layer? A screenshot including the Layers panel might help.

What is the color format of the image (RGB-8 or -16 required, probably).

I use always the same simple 1 MB, RGB-8 picture in V1, V2 and XnViewMP Software. Procedure is always the same, too. I didn't change nothig before and now.

In Photov2 Edit / Preferences / Photoshop Plugins, click on Open Default Folder in Explorer. Does it open the correct folder to display the 3 gmic items?

YES!

Plug-in are in the correct directories (folders) - for beta and official release.

Attached my example and test images I usually use to test and check.

When I first purchased Gmic I extracted it to an Affinity folder on my D drive (see image 1) where I store my prests etc. Image 2 shows the contents of the parent Gmic folder. I then added the parent folder to the Photoshop Plugins in preferences (image 3). Adding the directory gmic which is one below the parent directory didn't work. I hope this helps.

Manualy added plugin works great. I only think that with V2 it will work like befor: just copy files to Affinity Plugin subfolder and done!

And that seems to be how it has worked for everyone except you, if I've understood this thread.

I did the same as N.P.M. &, as I said, the affinity plugin had to be the parent directory.

Hallo ihr lieben ich habe dasselbe Problem, ich habe Windows 11 und die neuste Version von Gimic Versuch zu installieren nach Anweisung geht nicht, mich würde jetzt erstmal schwer interessieren, welche Version von Windows das ihr habt und ob das Affinity Photo oder Photo 2 und als App Version installiert wurde oder normal wie sonst auch immer, ob bei denen bei denen es funktioniert, das Plugin Verzeichnis ein Benutzer stet und nicht etwa Benutzer..?

Mein Problem betraf GMI'C 3.1.6 mit Affinity Photo V2. Ich arbeite unter Windows 11 und die neusten Versionen von Affinity Aplikationen wurden als Windows Apps installiert. Mit V1 Version waren keine Probleme, erste jetzt.

Aber nach manuelle installation in Affinity Photo V2 Edit -> Preferences dann Plugin, Knopf Add funktioniert.

Muss man beachten, damit Option 'Allow 'Unknown' plugin to be used markiert wurde!

Am sonst jetzt geht!

 Ich frage mich schon lange warum ist hier keiner willig ist, ganz genau zu zitieren und zu erklären, was er gemacht hat, eventuell mit Screenshots dass man dieses Plugin genauso installieren kann??

Entferne, oder lieber kopiere GMI'C Plugins file aus der Verzeichnis C:\Users\.affinity\Photo\2.0\Plugins zu ein neues festes Verzeichnis wie z. B. C:\Useres\gmic

Dann füge manuell, auf die gleiche Weise wie NIK Collection Plugins, hinzu.

Fertig!

Das stimmt. Du musst nur den Ordner wählen, wo sich die Datei 'GmicPlugin.8bf und Verzeichnis 'gmic' befinden. Dann schließen das Dialog-Windows und das Programm neu starten. Danach sollen zwei Einträge im Teil 'Erkannte Plugins' für GMI'C erscheinen.

Wenn es trotzdem nicht funktioniert, versuche den Hauptordner mit GMI'C Plugin aud eine andere Festplatte (Partition der Festplatte) zu übertragen.

Merke um die Dateien aus dem Verzeichnis C:\Users\.affinity\Photo\2.0\Plugins zu entfernen (löschen)!
