DarkClown Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 When I switch from APublisher to APhoto the PlugIns are not available (bug/feature/necessity)? If you switch from the Publisher application to the Photo application you should have them. However, just as in V1, Plugins are not a part of the Photo Persona in Publisher. That is one of several Photo application functions that are not available except in the full application. DarkClown Posted November 11, 2022 Author Posted November 11, 2022 Nope, not even the "PlugIn" Menu entry exists when you switch from APublisher to APhoto in V2. Starting APhoto separately lets the menu entry appear again. Or, if you are talking of Photo, please describe more when the problem arises. nwhit Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 His answer seemed to indicate that he "meant" to say switching WITHIN Publisher (thus, the Photo Persona. When he said "Starting APhoto separately lets the menu entry appear again." seems to be in agreement with your instruction, Walt. Think he just isn't clear on the difference in the terms "Persona" versus full App. Quote -------------------- New: 2023 Mac Studio M2 MAX 12-Core CPU/38-Core GPU 64GB Memory • 5k Studio Display • Sonoma Prev: 2020 iMac 27 i7 (5k Rez), 72GB, AMD Radeon Pro 5700XT 16GB • Sonoma MacBook Pro, 13", M1 2020 • 16 GB • macOS Sonoma iPad Air 2022

DarkClown Posted November 12, 2022 Author Posted November 12, 2022 Oh, come on guys ... of course I'm talking of the photo persona that is started from within the publisher. Not the separate application. Of course my mistake since I wasn't precise enough. Nevertheless the persona is a more or less representation of the standalone AP Application. Not having the PlugIn Filter Option available means I can't e.g. use Nik Collection when opening the Photo persona. What again results in the fact that all the great new feature (working on photos can be done within APublisher) is obsolet and I still have to work on seperate picture files and load them into the proper application. Instead of using the Studio Link Photo Persona, use File > Edit in Photo... the plugins are now available but they really should be in the Studio Link Photo Persona too. Scrub that, I spoke too soon, they are there but greyed out, well all but Eye Candy which for some reason works. Besides Plugins, you are missing File > New Batch Job, New Panorama, New Stack, New HDR Merge, and of course the other Personas in Photo. Would I like it if Plugins were there? Yes. But File > Edit in Photo is there for the times when you really need the full Photo application, and this is one of them. This is the same in V1 and V2. walt.farrell Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Also: Because of differences like this it is very important to use correct terminology, and say Persona if you mean Persona. Otherwise there will be confusion.
