Polygonius Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 I ooften want "flaggs" gouverment and real-goverment (NGO) colors... and so on... as "gradient" style, but flags and so on, uses extrem hard "borders" between its colors... ("no gradient"...). So, how can adjust a "style" with hard hard borders an only (maybe) 2-3 HART sepretatd colors (Nogradient????) Well i can use a "threshchold" or someting like that as filter/adhust (why this artifizical SEPERATION... its the same for me as end-user.... but, thats another question....) BUT whynot can i create grdient maps/styles with really HARD "trechhoclds" in it self? Or HOW can i do????? i have 6 colors and set my "breakpoints" and say: hard edge at ech breakpoint.... save this ans style.... and maybe, maybe, maybe.... please, plese, plese give thepssibilty to use gradient-"14. 27.... coloor-shemes as "Grandient MAPS"... And BTW: PRESETS for a special adjsutment/filter....", should be esay via left/right symbols (left/right-kexs...) really fast and reachable be! You are great lovely SERIF, but your "workflow" is often/sometimes so 1980... PLEASE focus next UPDATE of this! Get inspiered by KRIKA; DAW-plug-INs... and so on... At least Half of UNNESSARY mouseways and clicks... you COULDT reduce!!!!! Quote OSX 12.5 / iMac Retina 27" / Radeon Pro 580X / Metall: on! --- WWG1WGA WW!
NotMyFault Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Hi, one easy way to create gradients with hard edges is: Create a regular black to white gradient group the layer. Add Layer FX overlay with 0% opacity to eliminate dithering add posterise adjustment with n steps (n = number of intended colors) add gradient map adjustment and set n colors in equal steps (black - red - yellow in this example) Gradient hard edges.afphoto Polygonius, markw, Lisbon and 1 other 4 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. NotMyFault Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Alternative option: create 3 rectangular shapes, no stroke, and align them in a row save as asset If you need gradient with 3 colors, nest assest to original shape, and resize as needed. Set fill colors to 3-rectabgle to taste If you need more colors, creat asset with 4, 5, 6 ... rectangles walt.farrell 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. G13RL Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Another way to do it: apply a gradient with the three desired colors, superimposing exactly one yellow stop and one red stop at 33.33% and one black stop and one yellow stop at 66.66%. Then rotate the gradient or circle. Select the circle, create the style from the selection. Polygonius and markw 2 Quote

I tried this method on Mac and iPad, but it didn't work: whenever I superimpose 2 nodes, the node color creates a soft gradient to the left instead of hard edge. PS: Found the cause. It does not work when using the fill tool on the canvas. It does work when using the fill toolbar (the only where you can set positions by numbers) Edited March 13, 2022 by NotMyFault G13RL and Polygonius 2 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
