Matthias Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I do like the new Reset Selection Box a lot. I just think resetting the rotational information should be permanent. Using it there is supposedly a reason to reset the rotational information of the element in its present state to zero. I’d argue that more often than not this reason doesn't go away after deselecting the element. An example: I made a six sided square star which I use as part of a logo. I rotated it to 30 degrees so that it stands on one side. This is it’s final state. However, even if I convert the shape to curves it retains its initial rotational information so that everytime I select it I get a rotated bounding box. I find this distracting. Now that there is a way to reset the box – why not make it stick? Cheers Matthias jeff, olibclarke, rgchris and 2 others 5
Staff Leigh Posted November 19, 2015 Staff Posted November 19, 2015 I agree with your comments. When it's enabled it should remain enabled. This feature has only just been added to the beta so there's still time for the devs to make changes to its behaviour if they feel it would be useful to more users.
A_B_C Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 That’s indeed strange … I would also suggest that at least the conversion to curves should reset the rotational info. :) predick 1
retrograde Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 In your example I would agree. I am also looking forward to the reset rotation point for scaling as well. i.e. 'show scaling centre' gotta have this! ;-) http://www.kevincreative.com https://www.behance.net/kevincreative https://dribbble.com/kevincreative https://www.instagram.com/kevincreative/
Noob Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Agree with @Matthias. What's the point of "Reseting Selection Box" if it reverts when the object is de-selected -- should be permanent.
