AffinityAppMan Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 Greetings, How can I get Affinity Photo and Designer to appear on the iPad os pop up menu so that I can open a selected file without having to import from the app menu? please see image attached Quote
Alfred Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 If they don’t appear on the share sheet you can create shortcuts via the Shortcuts app: Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

I tried doing this, but I am having trouble doing it by just looking at screenshoots without a step by step guide. Is there a step by step guide somewhere? Thanks! Quote
Alfred Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 1. Launch the Shortcuts app and tap on the ‘+’ icon next to the ‘Select’ link 2. Provide an appropriate name for the shortcut & enable 'Show in Share Sheet' 3. Tap on ‘Documents’ in the grid on the right-hand side 4. Scroll down to the Files section and tap on ‘Open In…’ 5. Choose ‘Shortcut Input’ as the File option 6. Switch off ‘Show Open In Menu’ 7. I see what my problem is, I am not showing a "Documents" icon when I try to do this. Very strange. I only get these 4 options: Apps, Scripting, Favorites, and media. Quote

I haven’t encountered the need to do anything explicitly. When I go back to ‘All Shortcuts’ the new one is there at the top of the list. Staff MEB Posted September 17, 2021 Staff Posted September 17, 2021 @walt.farrell, Tap the circle with the ellipsis in center of the interface (on top), give the shortcut a name, tap done in that dialog and simply go back tapping the My Shortcuts link on the top left of the interface to return to the main screen. Your new shortcut should be there with the name you gave it. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
walt.farrell Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 @Alfred and @MEB: Thanks. I hadn't thought of simply going back to the main shortcuts page; I was looking for some explicit "save" action of some kind, and getting confused when I couldn't find one. Ikikuru Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Hi Guys, Running iOS 15, as soon as soon as I hit step 5, the high lighted section is added automatically. Then in photos when I say hey Siri “photo” it just responds with a “done” reply. Am I missing something? Looks so simple! Quote
Ikikuru Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Ok, figured it out. Only thing is, it does not open RAW photos into the develop persona. You can then select the persona, but the image looks already processed, very different to opening the app first add then opening a RAW file. But still great for non RAW, so much appreciated! From memory I simply used the edit option on Share sheet to add Photo and Designer from Documents. Raw files open in Raw Mode for me. Just tap the 3 dots at side of page next to the file name and select Share. Tap edit if you need to add Photo to Share Sheet. Works in Files app too.
