PaulG09 Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I shot some images yesterday using "Sunny" for the white balance option on my Canon R6. When I look at the white balance in Affinity Photo 1.10 shows as 4483k with a magenta tint of 35%. So overall the image appears to be close. In Luminar 4, it shows as 5279k with a magenta tint of 1. Looking back at other CR3 files using Affinity Photo I can see that they all have this huge magenta tint. To me this doesn't seem correct. Quote

PaulG09 Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Yes, I didn't notice this issue until I installed version 1.10. There might have previously been a slight magenta tint, but certainly nowhere near as noticable as under this latest version. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted August 19, 2021 Staff Posted August 19, 2021 Hi @PaulG09, Sorry for the delayed reply. Can you attach a sample RAW file? Quote
PaulG09 Posted August 19, 2021 Author Posted August 19, 2021 Hi, I have attached a CR3 file from the last couple of days, and also a screenshot from Affinity showing the white balance. From what I can see every CR3 file I have taken has this high magenta tint. I have checked my CR2 files taken with A Canon 80D and they do not have the same magenta tint. The CR3 files were all taken on Canon R6. _N5A7475.CR3 Quote
Ron P. Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 I see there is a substantial magenta tint applied. However, I think that has to do with the amount green in that image. In the Develop Persona, look at the Scope>RGB Waveform. Using the White Balance, move the sliders, and you'll see what the program is doing. What was your camera setting for White Balance, Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Flash??? Are you getting the same range of Magenta Tint in other CR3 files? Again camera settings are going to affect this. I shoot a Canon 70D, and through experimentation shooting macro (Canon 100 f/2.8) had better results with setting the WB to auto, and Camera-Neutral. With my Tokina 11-16mm I use Camera Landscape. These in camera settings do have an affect. Quote Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Staff Gabe Posted August 19, 2021 Staff Posted August 19, 2021 Thanks. It looks like a bug. in 1.9 the same RAW file had a tint value of -3%. Issue now logged. PaulG09, TwoWatchBoy and Ron P. 3 Quote

jean denis Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Hi, when can we expect a fix on the white balance when working with CR3 raws from Canon R5 ? I have submitted samples above for information and test. Thanks Quote
Staff Gabe Posted November 24, 2021 Staff Posted November 24, 2021 I'm afraid we can't provide a timeline for bug fixes. Sorry. Quote
