eejits
Thanks guys! MattP: By the time I get it finished (and hopefully published), you're son might be old enough to read it himself. It turns out my writing of these creatures is skewing a bit older than the standard kids picture book. It's going to be a short chapter book with illustrations aimed at 8-10yr olds. That's the plan. Of course, I'll be using AD and possibly AP to illustrate this book (s) with..... Can I ask what you'd expect from an eejits story book (always gathering opinions and loo0king out for ideas!)? Staff MattP Posted June 2, 2015 Staff Share Posted June 2, 2015 Can I ask what you'd expect from an eejits story book (always gathering opinions and loo0king out for ideas!)? I'd imagined it as a series of books, each book follows one of the characters and their interactions with some of the other characters as they go on a task to do a certain thing... Basically in a similar vein to most other kids books (Mr. Men for example) but with a more modern, slightly cheeky (parp-gag-related) sense of humour to make kids smile! :) That, and bright, bold, fun, larger-than-life characters :) peter

peter
Credits! :P Naah! Seriously I like the Mr Benn approach: an eejit, an adventure/task and suitable ending/moral tale, without being patronising. Yup, I've got the book, the DVD and a few of the limited edition 6 inch statues. How's the PIF ideas sitting with you? Want to carry on or have you got more fresh ideas? eejits
Hey Peter, good to hear from you again. Yeah the story I'm in the middle of writing/editing/writing/procrastinating just now follows that approach slightly. I have an eejit who has something stupid/terrible happen to him at the start of the story, which then sets him on a quest around the Wee Glen to recity it, meeting the other characters along the way. I'm having trouble with a suitable moral/ending but I'm sure I'll get there. Always loving the PIFs idea, but I think I can incorporate some of those ideas into future stories for my characters to deal with (in their typical eejit-y way) It's been great the support you and others have given me so far. I really look forward to releasing the first book and getting your opinions on it. Can't wait..... peter
Did you miss me? (Christopher Eccleston/Dr Who). If you want me to have an input to your early scripts/draft; I'd be honoured; to be the one of first to review them. Just PM me. I have also noticed the Challenge channel's cartoon characters idents, look very similar to your Eejits. This means that your work is already at the pro standard. You just need deserve that lucky break. :) Thanks for enjoying my PIFS! eejits
Thanks Peter, appreciate the comments. I'll let you have a peek at the story as soon as it's finished. I've working on the character designs at the moment, but I've finally got the structure sorted out and what I want to write, so now it's a case of getting it down on paper and making it funny. Haven't seen the Challenge TV's characters. Tried looking online but couldn't see anything.
