Ooh! This could be such a good metaphor; I think, it's one of your best to date. :D

It reminds me of a scene, from the film Ghost. This could will be another candidate for my PIFs. The trap could refer to debt, addiction, gambling or mental health...ie get help before it's too late. Or quit Adobe's CC plan and buy Affinity instead. ;)

Thanks Peter. I wasn't sure to release this one to the wild as I thought it might be 'too dark' but I think it worked out really well in the end.

Glad you like it Peter.....

Thanks George.

Darkness is a good thing; if you look at these films, Watership Down, Animal Farm, Charlotte's Web and Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter). All these tiles are aimed at children and are also critically acclaimed in their own right.

Not all films need or deserve a happy ending. This is why those films work and why they need to reflect life's cruel blows: tough I know, but life is like that.

Spoiler alert...Kes(Kestrel for a knave) and The Narnia Chronicles spring to mind as well. Pathos adds substance! It's dark, silent, relentless and has a very tight grip and is right behind you: don't have nightmares.

Yup, I agree, the darkness can be a good thing as long as you don't let it envelope you. Always carry a torch I say!

I have seen none of those films you've mentioned (except maybe Kes, have a vague recollection that I watched that at school) but I certainly get you're meaning.

Cheer Peter, love these wee chats back and fore.

Funny you should do this, as I've been cutting down trees today.

I really love that axe and the eyelids. Great work as usual.

As for the title/description: what would dear old Sigmund Freud Suggest? Little tossers, perhaps? :P

Gents look after your choppers/wood, love and kisses from your local GUM clinic (Think Viz/Embarrasing Bodies/Club 18-30).

P.S Why hasn't a newspaper signed you up yet, as political cartoonist? You really are so close to the big time...C'mon art editors give this man the break he needs and deserves.

Cheers mate. I don't think I'd be a political cartoonist, not really into politics but a cartoonist, yeah, I'll do that!!  :D

About not breaking into the big time: I'm the bottleneck. I don't work hard or smart enough and I'm held back by self doubt. It's an affliction that I battle against daily. But with every creation I get closer. I'm gonna keep plugging away and dreaming big.

Thanks again for the great words of encouragement!

Onwards and upwards!  :D  :D  :D

Thanks Madame.

I wasn't fishing for compliments there just genrally stating how my thoughts and feelings are these days in regards to my creative process. I sometimes feel like I'm wasting the potential that eejits has.

But don't worry I'll still be creating characters for everyone to enjoy, least alone for me to have fun with. Just having a moan.....

Thanks for the encouragement,

George

George, stop doubting yourself...doubting's my job.

As you don't do politics, then how's this for setting you up, for a great start to your day?

the-founders-of-airbnb-got-their-initial

Goes down great in the Trump household!  :P

Basically what I'm trying to say is imagine a certain eejit on a cloud, eating a bowl of (insert poor-attempt-to-mimic-name-of-cereal-market-leader).

Just do a mockup of a cereal box say, and send it to the marketing boys and girls like Poundland/Aldi/Lidl, even Sainsbury's etc. This is what they want. Top notch quality artwork like YOURS at Happy Shopper prices.

I've said this before good artists copy, great ones steal.

Take a leaf out of Dan's book and go all Christmassy (It's only Feb, sorry folks) and knock up an advent calendar; Easter has already been sorted for 2016.

Post it online, say it's available in the shops (insert name of shops). You can get away with this April fool's day, even lawyers have a sense of humour...usually when sending out invoices.

BTW Kinnertons are famous for Easter eggs and advent calendars; I've included this, to give you a well needed kick up the proverbial.

You can do it George; we're all behind you...waiting for the free chocolate ;)

Good luck to ya from all of us...

Thanks Peter. Some great ideas there. Never thought about cold pitching to companies to see if they like my art.

Once I get through these last commissions and the Character Design workshop I'm doing with Stephen Silver (ex Disney/Nickelodeon character designer) in April, I'll give it a bash. Who knows? There's no harm in trying. I was thinking of creating logos/mascots for fake companies to put in my portfolio (over on Behance) to show the sort of work I'd love to do.

Thanks again mate.

Excellent work!! I want to star doing stuff like that!!

Really nice job dude!

Thanks baal_uriel! Appreciate the comment, there's no moment like now to get started!

All my creatures are a mixture of vector lines, shapes and raster (pixel) layers for shading, highlighting, textures. Simples.  ;)
