Tonio DG
Hello, I would like to buy those brushes for affinity on windows : https://affinity.serif.com/fr/store/product/daub-paintbox-brush-pack/ Is it possible or definitely not ? Thanks and have a good day !
walt.farrell
As it says, several times, iPad only, I would not advise buying them for Windows. But I cannot say for sure how they would behave there. Fixx
Is there similar set available for desktop use? Or is the point that desktop apps already include too similar brushes by default..?
walt.farrell
Good question, Fixx. I have no idea. Perhaps @paolo.limoncelli, who created that brush pack for the 1.7 iPad versions, and who also created many of the older standard brushes for the iPad and desktop versions, as well as the new brushes for 1.8, would comment on that Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.1.2, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.1.
Staff MEB Posted June 19, 2020 Staff Share Posted June 19, 2020 Hi Tonio DG, Welcome to Affinity Forums These brushes will also work on the desktop versions however they will be quite slow on Windows (barely usable) since it doesn't have gpu acceleration support yet. On macOS they work fine as long as the hardware supports Metal compute acceleration. Tonio DG
OK thank you all for your answers 😀 @MEBDid you plan GPU acceleration for windows ?
Staff MEB Posted June 19, 2020 Staff Share Posted June 19, 2020 Hi Tonio, Yes, we do plan to add support for GPU acceleration on Windows but it may take a while. I advise you to wait until it's fully implemented before spending money on these brushes as they will be barely usable/very slow presently. walt.farrell and Leigh 1 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images

As there is some hardware acceleration present in the most recent version.
