Sabina Beg
I am pretty thrilled about the collect feature to consolidate links. However, any PDFs that I have linked in can not be collected. As soon as I select one of those files under resource manager the collect button is greyed out. As someone in the AEC industry, we need to be able to "collect" PDF files. Joachim_L
Not only PDF can't be collected, essentially every "editable" document format can't be collected. I hope the collect function will be soon expanded to all formats (and fonts). Right now this function is pretty useless ... at least for me. Staff Jon P Posted March 5, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2020 This is actually by design, but I am logging an improvement in this area as we should just be able to copy the file from it's original linked location to the new collected location. We will struggle if it's an embedded PDF, as we store our "imported" version of the PDF and not the original. I can "Collect" a linked (or embedded) .afphoto file, so I'm not sure exactly what you mean, Joachim. Joachim_L
@walt.farrell Sorry, I was not precise enough. At first glance it seemed to me, that all editable files could not be collected. walt.farrell 1 Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
Staff Patrick Connor Posted March 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted March 15, 2020 We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Collect linked PDF's) of the program in the latest customer beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts. Affinity Publisher 1.8.2.619 for Windows Affinity Publisher 1.8.2.619 for Mac These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version. Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.1/1.8.2 update/patch to all customers.
