Murfee
Hi, Column rules are a great addition but they do not accept gradients. I think this is due to gradients running left to right, the column rules pick up the colour from the right. Vertical paragraph decorations pick up the colour from the left. Horizontal paragraph decorations work correctly. Would it be possible to have a rotate gradient button so that it can run from top to bottom for column rules & paragraph decorations? It's not critical but would be nice to have

This seems like an unnecessary restriction. 2017 27” iMac 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 • Radeon Pr 580 8GB • 64GB • Ventura 13.6.4. iPad Pro (10.5-inch) • 256GB • Version 16.

Although there are other ways to achieve a similar result, it really does seem silly that you can't just rotate the fill! vonBusing
By default the Gradient tool on a text box is activated for the text itself. You can adjust the text box background gradient by changing the context in the gradient tool's contextual toolbar: Just switch "Text" to "Frame" as above. But these are the only two available options. Serif would need to add a "Rules" context to make it work on the column rules as well. fde101

My point above was that there is no way of changing the gradient direction from that dialogue. One has to go somewhere else, to the gradient tool, to change the direction of the gradient in the text box.
