Is there an existing document that outlines the feature/bug changes that are different between the beta and release versions?

Specifically, I'd like to know if the blemish spotting tool has been improved. I use it for dust spotting scans in PS, and the beta version needs some work. Has this been addressed?

Thanks!

The last beta release (26369) was marked as a Gold Master which, I am sure, means that it was the version sent to Apple for sale in the App Store. That means that there should be no difference in UI or functionality between 26369 and the release version. That does not mean that there may not be frequent new releases after that and the developers have said that the beta program will continue after official release.

In short, the official release should be identical to 26369 but there should be regular beta updates including new functionality, just as has been going on with the current betas.

Hi silvergelatin,

The public Beta has ended with Affinity Photo's official release. The Mac App Store version is the most current version available.

Soon the Affinity Photo Customer Beta will start. To run the new Photo Customer Beta you will need the Mac App Store version installed, otherwise it will run as a ten day trial.

The updates will be managed by the Beta - a notification with a link to download will be displayed when a new update is available like we currently do for Affinity Designer Customer Beta.

The store version received some stability improvements that were not in the last beta - no functionality is different. The customer betas with improvements and new features will start soon as Miguel says :)

it is a little sad to see that many bugs are still present in the retail version but what is disappointing is that plugins still don´t work.  i sure know it is not the developer team which is to blame for the hurry they created a wonderful app !

but what is disappointing is that plugins still don´t work.

That is certainly my view. I had always assumed that the plugin functionality, at least for those plugins that are most popular (Topaz/Nik) would be fully working before the official release and I was very surprised to find out differently.

Patience is a virtue. I am amazed at how quickly they are developing this app. They are also very open in sharing what they are working on. I enjoy knowing that inside information. Most developers don't do that...

I read the ad on the app store... No mention of that capability being available yet. It is amazing that I know they are working on it! Keep on keeping on Affinity... I can't say goodbye to adobe fast enough.

I am sure the app was in development a long time before it became available as a beta and we don't really know how long that was (although the AppStore advert said something about the app being in development for 5 years) although I think they went through the beta updates very quickly. But the app is still not really finished since the plugin functionality, which I consider to be a pretty basic part of any pixel editor, is still not really working. Still, as I have been saying, I am sure they will get it working.

Still, after all is considered, AP has replaced Photoshop for me and the cost of the app is less than the money I have saved not being enrolled in Adobe's Photography Program. AP does not do everything Photoshop does, but it does everything in Photoshop that I used and has additional functionality that I never saw or used in PS.

We will keep working on plugin support. It's not always easy for us as we have to contend with App sandboxing issues and most plugin installers assuming Photoshop.

We have planned solutions for most of the problems but it will help if we get cooperation from plugin developers.
