I want to draw a shape like you can see in the first image. The black stroke should go around the shape but interrupt at multiple points. The filling should be everywhere within that shape. I use shapes with the same background color which cover the stroke part (second image) but that does not always work. Is there a better way to do this? I know I can use the "erase" blend mode but I think this causes rasterization on export. If anyone knows how to draw a shape like in the first image please let me know... I dont want to draw a separate curve and place it on top the grey shape. It has to be one shape for easy editing.

It takes over a minute to open (WIN 7 with AP v. 1.6.2.97) I read that my color settings may be wrong "WCS device profile" but I have no idea how to change it (if I could find it and knew what it was). Others on the forums say it takes about 7 seconds? -
I have just acquired an IPad Pro and have hoped to use this as my primary editing device. As most of what I do is along the lines of "Street" there is little that Affinity Photo cannot achieve on the IPad app. That said, I shoot in RAW and would like to store my photos on either my WD NAS system or preferably on my WD My Passport Pro. A typical workflow would be to Download to the MPP using the auto download slot then import the raw file to affinit. On export I would like to export directly to my MPP so that all of my work is available from there. Clearly I would retain the originals on the SDD Card and I have a backup system to my NAS system which I usually access when I am at home As far as I can tell Affinity will not allow me to add the MyCloud app to locations which is central to this issue... Am I missing something here?

Hello, great tool. I've got AP trial (version 1.6.0.89). The EFIF-Tab shows "n/a" at all entries after opening any file. So with jpegs and raws of different cameras (canon & panasonic). Starting the app as admin doesn't help. Exeption rule on the anti virus tool doesn't help. Installing program in a different folder on d:\ doesn't help. I know inbetween that it concerns the tool exiftool.exe in the resources folder. Couldn't find more help or topics. Addidtional: I work with photoshop (elements for private use and CC in job). May I add a wish for the developers to copy a helpful workflow from photoshop: Increase / decrease brush size by moving mouse left/right while pressing ALT and right mousebutton. Also increase / decrease brush hardness by moving mouse up/down while pressing ALT and right mousebutton. Meaning all types of brushes such as clone brush, paint brush, dodge brush and so on. Certainly a huge wish, but would be definitively an immense help. Collegues always applause, when I show them this trick on photoshop. (Should I create a separate content for this?) Hi everyone, another question of my team, When i open a Document in Affinity Photo, would affinity Photo warn me when the document is allready in use, so two people simultaniously wouldn´t be able to accidentially change the same document and override the other one ? i think for bigger companys this should at last be an option in the settings to turn it on. is it allready possible ? thanks -
Hello Affinity, i found an issue. When i try to open multiple images in same time (f.e. 6 images), the designer .82 freeze and there is info about "opening 6 files", but nothing happens. CPU load is above 90%. I tried to let it work for about 1 minute, but designer opened nothing. Those files are .jpg (saved from Ps for web), about 2Mpx resolution, hundreds Kb each, so relatively small images (newsletter designs in my case). I attached screenshot captured in progress of opening.

Hi my app on my ipad crashes everytime I try to open a photo, do you have a solution for me? I have an ipad pro first edition -
Could the software please remember the last used directory separately for opening and for exporting. A frequent workflow for me is: 1) Open Image 2) Edit Image 3) Export Image (repeat many times) It's a waste of time to have to navigate back and forth between my "originals" and my "export" directory for every photo I edit. Export should remember the last directory I exported to and this should not interfere with remembering the last directory I opened a file from. This is a very simple software change but would save users a lot of time.

So, I have bought and downloaded Affinity Designer and installed it (of course). I have also downloaded the free UI-Kit included with the purchase. How do I now open or utilize it (the UI-Kit)? I have tried doing so with Affinity but received the notification that these aren't Affinity files. Help, please. :) -
Hello everyone, I would love to see a way to organize open windows by name. When you have quite a few open windows, it is difficult ot keep track of which window / tab is where. I think a solution for this could be either a right click menu on the windows / tabs or a sort option in the window main menu. Best regards

Hello y'all. I'm please to use Affinity Designer lately. However, I realized I unchecked the panel on startup accidentally when I open the app for the first time. I really want to try out the samples on the panel, but I don't know how to retrieve the panel. Please help me. :'( -
I just downloaded and installed Affinity. When trying to open a file, I receive the following message: /../../_W4A4007.jpg The file could not be opened because permission was denied. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to set a default location to be used when I use "File, Open"? All of my photos are in sub folders hung off a single folder "Photos". It would be good to be able to set this folder (or occasionally one of its sub-folders) to be the default open location rather than being thrown into the morass of drives, libraries, network locations and other stuff that Windows routinely serves up and have to navigate every time to "Photos". I thought I had done this in Edit, Preferences, Tools but it turns out that I have set an "Additional Dictionary Folder". I have no idea what that is, even after reading the help information. My first post. Thanks for validating my email address, I wish everyone did that, it would stop a lot of junk email. On a parochial note, thanks for spelling "colour" correctly. :-) John -
Hi, if the option "show selection in layers panel" is set (to see your current selection automatically in the layers panel) it also means: click on a layer / click on a group / reorder a layer / reorder a group will lead to expand the group/layer. That is not helpful at all and hopefully a bug only. :) Cheers, Stefan.

Hello, I am trying to open a PDF as currently cropped and saved as a raster directly through Photo or Designer, but it doesn't seem to provide that option with the open dialog options, am I missing something? Thank you -
It would be useful on the home screen when you open Affinity Designer as well as the work of the designers, there is the possibility to open the last used files.

I am Beta testing Affinity with a view to upgrading to it from PagePlus, but there seems to be no way to open PagePlus files. Is this intentional (if so seems short sighted)? D Green -
If I open a design from C:\My Pictures\Affinity and export to C:\My Pictures, the next time I try to open a file the path has defaulted to C:\My Pictures\ I would expect the Open and Export paths to be remembered separately. Ideally, the path would be remembered for each export format, e.g. C:\My Pictures\SVG, C:\My Pictures\EPS, C:\My Pictures\PNG etc., while the File Open path would remain whatever was last used to open a file. -
Hi! Sorry if this has been requested before. I did a search, but couldn't find anything. The Open File Dialog (and Save As... Dialog) should remember it's size and position. The Save As... Dialog in Separated Mode works as it should (at least in Full Screen). Best Wishes Kristian Bredin -
Anyone have the same problem? I cannot use beta version after update OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 but the previous OS X version can do.

I've saved files in .afdesign yet when I try to open it it says "the file type is not supported" how to open it?
