Would be nice if you could add an option to sync style(font and size) between a text object and belonging inline text objects. -
1. we need to place a pdf as a link. it can be placed but all TEXT inside the pdf are missing because of the font missing. so the placed pdf are technically not linked. so we need an options like that (image pdf linking.png). 2. after placing a pdf some times we have to edit or need to some adjustments so that time we nee to outline the fonts so another option similar to Illustrator FLATTEN TRANSPARENCY required. with both of those we; printers can handle client files easily.

It's a very stressful bug, or rather a specification, and I'd like to see it improved. AFINTY publisher is set up as an application with realFONT as the standard, but there are many limitations on output as a character, especially in the Japanese environment. I want you to change the default FONT itself with FONT that becomes "work mistake" instead of the preference of FONT. There is a problem with the output only, such as not being able to produce the correct characters, and the result is different. Also, there are many users who want to use the FONT itself with a specific setting. Can't we change the default FONT instead of per document? -
I need to change the text in an affinity file from English to Kartuli (Georgian). When I add "ახალი სიცოცხლე ცენტრი" It just puts boxes where each individual letter goes. How can I add custom language? Thanks!

Hi! Still struggling to learn about table and such. I tried to change font from Arial 37.1pt to IRIS UPC 72pt. but every time I chose to change either font/size, it snapped back right to Arial 37.1pt. I tried delete the whole table and made a new one but the same problem still persist. For some reason, I was succeed to change the font and size at the last panel but not other table panels. Any idea guys? I attached the master page file without the artwork for more information. Thank you in advance. Forum Q and A.afpub

Hi, I want to report this bug: When I have more opened windows and in one of this I click on text for edit, when I click letter automatically the app open other window and I can't continue insert text. You can see in action on attached video example. Is it a bug or a problem on my installed fonts? Thanks affinity_font.mov

Hi, I have seen that you have problems with GSUB substitutions in more situations. This is screenshot of Courier New, MacOs Mojave running latest Affinity publisher 1.8.2 The difference is visible, though the right - wrong case - is in text field. Looking into the font, I discover that it doesn't have any subsititutions, either kerning (monospaced). Is this done automatically by Affinity designer?

So I have a layout that has numerous text boxes, that was originally designed for 8.5x11". I want to scale the design down to 5.5x8.5". How do I scale the text boxes so that when I scale them down, the font is resized automatically? Currently this is what is happening: I grab a handle of a text box that contains 12 point font, and scale it down. The text box scales down, but the font within does not. The font stays the same size (12 point), and eventually the words in the textbox simply overflow the textbox, because they no longer fit within the smaller dimensions of the scaled textbox. What I am trying to achieve: I grabe a handle of a text box that contains 12 point font, and scale it down. The text box scales down, as does the font within. The font goes from 12 point to whatever is need to keep its layout within the textbox (let's say 9 points). The words in the textbox don't overflow, as they maintain their original layout within the textbox. Ideally I want to achieve this without converting to curves, as I want to retain the ability to edit the text. -

Is there a way to select certain fonts as favorites? At the moment, every time I select a font and write a word in it and change the tool afterwards, it snaps back to Arial, and I have to look for the font again I have just written in. How can I stop this behavior and have the artistic text tool remember the last used font - and how can I select favorite fonts where I have a shortlist of 4 - 6 fonts I regularly use, so I don't have to browse through all those comic sans funny symbols chalk scriptures and impact stuff to find the fonts I want to use. thanks!

Iam waiting from one year that affinity will add regional text engine support for their apps...But i was dissapointed in every update that they doesn't include it. Affinity if you are listening and if you value your customers suggestion please add support for regional text engine support.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the Affinity Suite but I think that i've encountered an export bug with Affinity Designer for iPad (1.8.3). I've designed a business card for a friend and we decided to use the Papyrus font which suits his drawings. However, when exported as a PDF file, the spacing between letters is incorrect and looks weirds. This also breaks some designs because of misalignments in the entire document. Since the business cards contains his contact informations, I've created a test document to demonstrate my problem. I've tried many different settings but the only fixes I've found are to rasterize the font during export, or to convert the fonts as curves (not sure if this is the correct term). To make sure that I wasn't missing something, I've downloaded the trial version of Affinity Designer for macOS (1.8.3). With the same parameters, the text exported with the macOS version doesn't show the same problem as with the iPad version. You'll find the sample .afdesign file, PDF exports done with both macOS and iPad versions and screenshots of my export settings. Some more info : I'm using a brand new iPad Pro 11" (the 2020 model), so I don't think I've had enough time to break anything 😁 Thank you very much for reading and let me know if this is user error or if it is actually a bug. Font Name: A-CID 勘亭流 Installed location:Macintosh HD/Library/Fonts しかし、文字は選択したフォントではありませんでした。 However, the characters were not in the font selected. また、フォントの前に！マークが付いています。 Also, there is a ! mark in front of the font. フォントを選択するウィンドウには、フォントが正常に表示されていました。 The font selection window displayed the fonts correctly.

After publishing my bookI had a look at the PDF-properties and noticed, that there is an font embedded, which I don't want to use. I would like to avoid to have to go through manually each text field in my 270 paged publication so my question to the forum: is there a convienient and easy way to search for specific fonts and their placement/location inside a publisher document? Or a simple search & replace possibility for fonts? Any help appriciated, thanks in advance. Robert

Hey! A suggestion regarding the font management: I am wondering if there is way to make the font substitution I make in Publisher can be permanent? I have noticed that the font substitution only works within Publisher. If I open the file where I have done this in Designer the substitution is gone and as there is noch font manager available I have to stick to Publisher for any further edits. I know I could use styles but in old files I don't used styles and so it's difficult to change certain fonts in the whole document at once. Is there a way to make this substitution permanent via a (suite-wide) font manager in every app? All the best, Chris -
Hi there, I have two problems. I'm trying to solve the problem. every time I try to select a font, Affinity Photo freezes. It stops mainly at H or M. I tried to remove the font, but I still have problems. Is there any other way? And there is a duplicate font thickness. Is this an error? I'm using Photo version 1.6.5.135 on Windows 10 64bit. There was no problem when I used the trial version. I downloaded 5 fonts (English 3 Korean 2).

IN Affinity Photo Beta 1.8.2.172, Crash occurs when I try to double-click the default font (Arial) and overwrite with a different font. It doesn't always crash, but trying to change the default font by double-clicking and overwriting delivers a short list which disappears after 1 second and multiple attempts to change the font by overwriting ultimately causes a Crash. -
There's at least a 1s lag when changing font color (drag on color wheel, not click), I remember AD changing font color in real time in previous versions. Video: font color.mov

Hi, I'm using the current release of Affinity Designer 1.8.0.585 and I found out, that it's not possible to change the font size with the number block at the right of the keyboard. It's only possible with the number sequnce at the top. Best regards, Thomas -
I bought affinity designer But I can't use this software. korean fonts freeze problem??? I paid and purchased. But I can't use this program. Why are you not fixing it? It is the worst experience in my life.

Hi Very weird thing, I'm using this font called "Rockness", and it displays perfectly fine in Adobe Suite yet when I try and type the same thing in Affinity I get this. Doesn't really matter what I type, the whole character mapping seems all over the place. Frustratingly I'm not having to go back to Adobe CS just to type out this line. Any explanation appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have tried to drag a logo into affinity and it will not recognize the font even though I have added the font on my mac. On my mac it says the name of the font is 'timed' but the real name is 'romance fatal serif' so when i open on affinity it says it does not recognize the font. Do you have any suggestions as to how i can resolve this? Thanks -
The UI default font seems too thin and the spacing clunky when the UI "big" font is used. The UI default font seems too small even when set to "big" (using 2560x1440 resolution on a LG 4k monitor)

Hello all, Something I have noticed throughout all three applications... When I use Indesign, I replace a word in a sentence and it replaces that word with the same font style etc in the box. If I do it in publisher, I loose the text formatting for the word in the box. I then have to replace the new word font with the current font in the sentence. if I do it in photo and designer the same thing happens. If I lay out an entire magazine, and have to change a single word in a paragraph, it should automatically replace the work when I paste it in, with the same font and formatting style that was in place. It should not replace the word in the text box with a random font.. Am I the only on that seems to find this strange.... Or have I missed a setting or a check box that stops this from happening in all three applications...
