  1. What I love about compositing is the ability to make it look as natural as possible, of course there are times where its obvious and that's the look your going for. Love how easy Affinity photo made this for me. This is made up of 4 pictures, love the black and white look I was able to achieve. Allan
  2. A simple composite comprising my Gran Turismo 6 Avatar placed at the Pit Entrance of the track at Ascari, Ronda, Spain.
  3. Hi, I would like to share one of my first composition and color correction with Affinity Photo. It's my vision of a modern Mermaid. Watch it on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/gp/134512556@N02/Sg96dm Modern Mermaid.tiff
  4. Spent a little time this morning trying to composite some images in AP. I'm still learning the tools and features of this app, but more and more I'm starting to see how I can replace PS for good. The beach and the photo of the tree were shot by me. The vultures were found searching google. Any thoughts, suggestions, tips, or feedback? Thanks!
  5. Here is a quick composite using Affinity Photo called "Buildings in the Sky" Allan
  6. Peter Gabriel comes with some special effects from AP :)
  7. Taken a couple of years ago, here's a shot reworked in Affinity Photo. Any thoughts welcome.
  8. This work is untitled (provisionally) - I’m looking for a suitable title for this pic. What does it say to you? Road ..., dream ..., and / or … whatever?? I'm pretty curious about your ideas :) :) ...
  9. Now that I've cracked the clunky uploader, here's a Fuji X-T1 raw file reworked in Affinity Photo. The image was made using the Fujinon XF14mm lens and an ND filter which slowed the world down. Any thoughts welcome.
  10. This was originally an Affinity Photo test. Particularly the hair masking tool. I was surprisingly pleased with the results. If I had to do this seriously I probably wouldn't use this dancer model. But dancing models tend to make interesting poses which makes for great supernatural compositions. She had reddish hair which I enhanced and it reminded me of Dark Phoenix... so I went with it and made my alternative version of Dark Phoenix from X-Men. This was just for fun (for once). I find Affinity Photo much like Photoshop, only more "fun" to use because of live preview features and slick refined work flow and a tight smooth program operations. Only $50 no subscription was a bonus too. This image was originally 6000px Wide and which made the program struggled a bit more and made the fan in my Macbook Pro 2011 sound like a cyclone! My artwork is also on Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/28344101/Dark-Phoenix
  11. Thanks for jokes guys. Here is my second attempt at uploading at pic to this forum. This is a view from the little harbour in the hamlet of Ballintoy on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. The Harbour was used a set for the the Game of Thrones serious, accompanied by heavy use of CG. Here's hoping the pic will upload. Thoughts are of course welcome. Brian
  12. Here is a cropped version of the new header graphic for the band's website. The full header is part of the new "responsive" site design, which will go live in a few days. All the work on the site is being created in AD and AP. I'll post a link to the site once it's live. Cheers!
  13. My Vector-Illustration "Her Companion", (now) edited with AP.
  14. Downloaded Affinity Photo today to explore it as a replacement for my ageing copy of Photoshop CS4 (which among other things, looks horrible on a high DPI screen!). Did a quick play after watching some tutorials - nothing too complex, just a bit of RAW with gradient overlay, a couple of blends, adjustment layers and a brush. Quite pleased overall, and I'm loving how responsive the software is.
  15. Hi Folks, another work ;) Drawn and edited with AD and AP (ship), using some free pics (landscape, children). Do you like it?
  16. Hi, I've been spending some time with Affinity Photo and loving the results i'm getting. Here is something that I've worked on today, enjoy. #TheSpaceman. Allan
  17. Hey guys, I'm very new to Affinity Forum and this is my first post! I have designed new icons for Affinity Apps based on the original icons' unique characteristics and flatted design. I hope Affinity Team can see this and maybe get some ideas from my design! Let me know what you think! Affinity have updated the apps with brand new flat design, personally I think the new design is tasteless and not easy understandable for newcomer who didn't see the original design! All design are using just Affinity Photo beta app! Thanks for sharing your opinions!
  18. Hey, I just wanted to share a simple creation I have made with Affinity Photo. I dont know how to call it so I named in Manipulation :D Just want to hear your opinion ^^
  19. Heres a set of duplicate personal logo designs i created.
  20. An ominous photo I took in 2012 of the Hollywood Tower Hotel in Disneyland Paris. Retouched in Affinity Photo and Noiseless Pro in 2015 from the original RAW file.
  21. All my previous work has all been in Designer because that's what I do, but I do have a real hidden passion for photography. This was taken in France a few months back on my iPhone6 with a Moment lens attached. Now we are out of beta, i'd thought i'd give it a serious go. My first piece in photo and although i'm pleased with the results, there is still a way to go and more to learn but working in Photo was fun. You will see the before and after, and what a difference 30 mins in Photo makes. Allan.
  22. Hi folks, another work ... ;) (photo manipulation)
  23. Using Affinity Photo to color my scanned art is real dream and has made my life so much easier.
  24. So far I have done a few photo corrections and basic extract, cut and paste in AFP and was sufficiently impressed to decide to invest some time and effort into trying to learn AFP to a usable standard. This is my first attempt to produce an image entirely in AFP. I can't pretend it wasn't very frustrating at times. One of AFP's most amazing features, the way it stacks and nests layers, masks, adjustments, is very powerful and subtle, but it's also the most difficult to get your head around. You have to forget anything you learned elsewhere and learn a quite different approach and philosophy. This simple image contains no photographic elements at all. It is 'painted' entirely in AFP using pen, brush, Layer FX, and some noise. That's it. Just the very basics. Given that my next best passion after photo manipulation and creation is my kitchen and cooking, I thought a foodie subject would be appropriate. I broke an egg into a non stick pan put it beside my monitor and created the image from life just as one would a traditional still life painting. This is very unusual for me as I normally work photographically, but it seemed a good way to get to grips with some of the tools. Can't pretend to be entirely happy but no one should be ashamed of first attempts, that's how we learn ............ and I learned a LOT by doing this. :) I shall definitely be persevering further. David Mac
  25. Here are a couple of quick composites created in Affinity Photo, changed the blend modes, added a lighting filter etc. 1. Elephant in a jar 2. leopard waiting to board Allan
