  1. Hello ^-^ I just wanted to post some things I would like to be added within Affinity Photo for iOS. One of the biggest issues I have with it is file transfer. Only being able to do a single file at a time is a bit slow! so something like in Procreate would be look where you can hold select a file then select files around is to move multiple at a time then move them into the Files app. Or have a system in place where all files are saved to the cloud by default ( can be disable) a icon will be placed on the document to download the file onto said device to work on. Then you can delete it from the device but will still be on the cloud to use on another computer or to re-download on said device at a letter date (tho this might be a bit hard to do) Moving onto folders would love to be able to mass delete files within a folder so when in the folder view you can only delete a folder when all files have been removed to being able to delete a folder with all files within it would be nice. Also full keyboard support for external keyboard use (along with command/alt and control) right now there is support but limited!!! Also would love to have sub folders within a main folder would be nice ^-^ Thank you for your time, will update if I can think of other things to add.
  2. I decided to do some nighttime photographing in my hometown with my iPhone7 and my tripod. I used the NightCap Pro app for these shots. The dark exposure (2) was shot at ISO100, f/1.8, 25s to protect the highlights and the bright exposure (1) was shot at ISO1000, f/1.8, 25s. I believe the iPhone 7 can only take long exposures of about 3s, so what this app basically does is stacking several photos for noise reduction and ISO controls the brightness of the photo. Nevertheless I was pretty amazed by what is possible with current smartphone cameras! I blended the dark and the bright exposure in Affinity Photo for iPad to bring some details in the highlights, especially for the windows on the right of the image. Then some color correcting, white balance, etc. and some dodging and burning. I wanted a warm image, because I am thinking of using this photo as a Christmas postcards for my family and friends - so I still need to do some lettering... Anyways, it was fun to do and I learned a lot about Affinity Photo for iPad and my iPhone 7... Best regards, Wetterhoun
  3. Hi there, I used an older version of Affinity Photo two years ago and used the golden spiral function. I just updated to the newest version 1.6.6 and it disappeared. Any help, guys? THX Isil
  4. Hello everybody! First of all excuse me if my english is not very good, I am a not native speaker. The last day I planned to add the Google Nix Collection to my newly adquired Affinity Photo. But now I have a problem with the size of the window. Everything appears very, very small in it (although the window size is quite normal) and is very hard to me to see actons and words, and whatever inside the pannels. Could anybody help me, please? I urgently need to know how to resize that window(s) in order to see it(them) in a normal size! thanks a lot!
  5. I'm running AP 1.6.5.61 on an iPad Air2. When I access iPhoto, choose a photo and select Edit AF is not an option. Why? I can get Pixelmator and PS Express, but not AF. BTW I've gone to SETTINGS on my iPad Air2 and AF is not revealed, even though I've paid and got AF installed. Why? Please advise, G
  6. Hi. Please add the ability to change the ruler's unit of measure from pixels to inches. Print-related work is often measured in inches (here in the U.S.). I am sure other units of measure would be appreciated by others, as well. Please allow a right-click on the Ruler to change the units of measure. Thank you!

  8. Hi, new user here. Would greatly appreciate an assist. Affinity Photo 1.6.0.89 I'm having some difficulty getting layers to show in exported pdfs. I've searched around. Is it just me? Exporting 3.5x2" 400dpi image with 10 layers into a pdf. Nothing is shown in the layers panel of several pdf viewers and editors. Did I overlook something simple?
  9. Any advice on the best settings for performance in preferences on Photo - memory usage etc? I've had a quick search but can't find anything on here. I have 64bit Windows system with 16gb ram, Intel i5-2500K 3.30ghz, with Nvidia GTX GeForce 1050 ti. Current settings are attached. My problem has been generally sluggish performance, waiting for effects to play catch-up with Retina Rendering at Highest Quality and a far too pixelated image when it's set to low quality.
  10. I thought that I would post a larger version of my avatar. This was taken over 40 years ago in Reed's Cave at the Pengelly Cave Centre, Buckfastleigh, Devon. What you see is a helictite. This is a column (where a stalagmite meets a stalactite) that has formed where a drought blows through the cave. The entire helictite is only about 12-15cm high. The Little Man is in a chamber a long way into the cave system. It took us about an hour to reach it. Reed's Cave now has limited access and, as far as I know, there are no published photographs of the Little Man younger than this one. This is a pity, because I would expect that over 40 years or more, the conformation would have changed. As you might guess from its age, it was taken on film, and the original showed noticeable film grain. I used the denoise filters to reduce it, followed by some sharpening. The atmosphere in the cave was damp, and there are several areas of specular reflection from the flash, some of which I have reduced or removed. (One hazard of cave photography is that the power leaks from the electronics. I found that I had to remove the batteries from the flash until the last minute.) John Rostron
  11. Hey guys, this is a new PreMade book cover design that I tried to use to place the author name next to the title (instead above it) Of course, the name should still visibly separate from the title and also be well recognized as the author's name. What do you mean? Titel/Info: Im Regen sieht dich niemand weinen means something like No one sees you crying in the rain http://b-bertuleit.de/buchcover-design-im-regen/
  12. Hi, is there a way to obtain this shadow effect in Affinity Photo? https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/poster-good-bad-ugly-every-letter-271238366 THX
  13. Hello, I'm new here and struggling with affinity photo in comparison to photoshop. I'm a photographer and need a fast, solid & intuitive alternative for my daily work... So therefor I compare my behavior work with ps and are searching for the functions. First I need a better layer difference by color (see example attached). I think this is no bog thing for affinity - isn't it? It helps me so much! Greetings Mr.Alan
  14. Hi everyone! I want to know how I can export to EPS format (to impression) with transparent background. I have a image (with (Pixel) type in the Layers panel, not (Image) type). This layer have a mask. But when I export to EPS format, the mask doesn't work. I did the same thing into Photoshop, export to EPS and import into Affinity Photo to see what's happened. The only difference that I can see is that the image have (Image) type and not (Pixel) type. I don't know if it is the key, but if it is, I don't know how I can change the type of the layer (Pixel to Image). Someone can help me? PS By the way, I'm a French guy, so I'm sorry for my english (correct me if you want, I learn)
  15. First-time poster, completely new to photo editing, totally new to AP, pretty new to photography. I really only processed this scene to see if I liked Affinity Photo and whether or not I could get my head around it. The video tutorials are excellent and laid out in a very logical manner. I must commend you guys on the work that has gone into them. I didn't use 'Develop Persona' for this as I hadn't done those tutorials then....I have since discovered how powerful 'develop' and overlays are though...amazing. The original photos (3 of them were bracketed +/- .6 ev) and were taken on a Nikon d90 with a 18-105mm lens. I used HDR merge, inpainted the tourists, bins, shoppers, bikes, benches and bollards, out of the foreground and mid ground. I used selective masks to retrieve blown out detail and saturate some of the brick tones, defringed and added a final adjustment to overall brightness contrast and a little overall adjustment to final exposure. I am not an artist, I am not even particularly creative...but I was amazed at this software. The export function was very slick too, processing a 230MB Affinity Photo down to 2.2mb with the slider set to 80%. Oh and it took me less than an hour on my iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017. I have now purchased Affinity Photo ... I just love it.
  16. I am trying to create a digital collage using some of my original photographs. I have had some partial success but have gotten stuck, I think because I don't completely understand how to use masks and work with irregular shapes. I've watched some tutorial videos but they don't answer all my questions. I used Designer to create an outline of the shapes I wanted to use in my collage. I then brought that into Photo. Most of the shapes are rectangles but there are some irregular areas which is where I'm having trouble. I brought in various images using the Place command and clipped them to the rectangles. That worked fine. But at the bottom of the collage there is a dark area that extends into the bottom of the piece. I used a mask to paint away the part of the rectangle that was covering up the dark irregular area inside the design lines I'd created with the pen tool in Designer, but I painted out too much. I then tried switching the paint brush color from black to white but I wasn't able to paint back in the rest of the rectangular image where I had painted out too much. I'm not sure I was on the right layer though I tried working on several different layers, including the mask layer, with the same lack of result. I just wasn't clear what I should be doing to paint back in the rest of the rectangle that now shows as white. Also, on the top of the piece, I want to cut out some areas of the rectangles and create some irregular areas similar to the one at the bottom and fill those with a different image from the image that is filling the rectangle. I don't know how to do that either. I don't know if I have to create a selection in the rectangle and then somehow fill that selection with another image. I don't even know where to start on this part of the collage. I've attached a jpg of my image as well as a Photo file. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate the help. 17. Have just updated to Affinity Photo v1.6 and what a joy it is to edit 360 images - my main interest. So easy to level horizons and set 'North' as well as edit 'live' 360's May I also mention the excellence of the video tutorials. Cheers - Don
  18. Hi, I'd like to cutomise the wet edges of my brush on my PC version of Affinity Photo. But as you can see from the screenshot, I don't have the option to do so. I've checked my version of the software and it's 1.6.0.89. I've checked a number of brushes and can't find the custom dialog box that appears in the 1.6 features video at 00.21. Am I missing something? Cheers, Simon
  19. hello, I have a problem with opening affinity photo account. After entering the correct details, I get a message "Can't open Affinity account". What should I do, my dearest support ??? Prof. Rafael.
  20. Thinking back about the great paintings of Rothenburg o/d Tauber in the local museum, I got inspired and made my own "painting" of Rothenburg o/d Tauber with Affinity Photo for iPad. I have blended two photos, the one with the bush and the stars was shot with my Canon 80D and the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 a couple of weeks ago, not far from where I live. The one with the prison tower of Rothenburg (Der Strafturm) I had shot during an overcast day with my iPhone7, when I was visting this awesome medieval town in Germany last summer. Because the light was rather flat, I knew it was a good photo to do some blending with. This was a great opportunity for me to learn a lot of things about blending with Affinity Photo on my iPad Pro. Love this app! Best regards, Wetterhoun
  21. Why is the resized jpeg image blurry even when the aspect ratio is preserved going to a smaller size?
  22. Shot with Canon 6D, 135mm. Did a lot of editing. Hope you will like it.
  23. Hi Affinityonados A few inktober entries drawn on paper but "colorised" with da lovely Affinity Photo !
  24. So, this is an image of plant I captured while back... I loved two things about it: First it grew between the cracks of the boulder and second the way the leaves changed the colour. I was not satifisfied with the colors and so tried to retouch it in AP to bring it to life!! I hope you like it Original image with basic adjustments: Final Image from AP:
