  1. Hi, Please could someone explain how to join coincident points in Designer? I understand how to use the Join tool with non-coincident points: shift-select the two end points with the node tool, select Join and hey presto! you get a new line which joins the two selected points. However, what about if I don't want a new line? How do I select the two coincident points such that they then join to create a single point which joins the two lines together? In Illustrator, this is not tricky - click and drag over the two coincident points > select join (decide if you want a sharp corner or a curving corner) and it's done. I'm sure I'm missing something in Designer... could someone spill the beans please? Thank you! Edward
  2. Time for something spacey again, I call this: "The launch" a young civilization setting out into the unknown for the first time.
  3. Hello there, the picture says it all, I guess, but just for clarity: there seems to be a hard coded Mitre limit in the Contour tool and there are situations where it needs to be adjusted. These are plain vertices, no funky extra ones underneath, yet the obtuse corner is behaving as expected but the acute angle leaves no choice but to either alter the geometry or switch to Illustrator’s Offset tool, where it can be adjusted. Please make AD even greater, thanks! Best regards, Matt
  4. I am someone who constantly uses export persona with various file output types. Export persona is an amazing feature in affinity suite of apps but I feel there is one little upgrade that can be done. When exporting in export persona, there is no way to see the estimated file size like how it is possible during normal export. If we could see the estimated file size of selected slice, it will be awesome. I believe this would be simple but very useful when implemented. If anybody coming across this post thinks this will be good, do reply to the thread or like the post so that it gets moderator's attention. Have a great day! Thanks.
  5. Hello, I'm a figure drawing artist and I have been using Adobe Illustrator to draw quick figure sketches for a number of years. Key to this process is the ability to direct the pencil tool to not select each new line I draw, so I can sketch simple lines quickly without the distraction of anchor points. I haven't been able to find the Affinity Designer equivalent that would allow me to draw with the pencil tool without seeing the Nodes. Is there a toggle that allows this? I've attached to this post a short clip illustrating what I'm talking about. On the right, I have an Illustrator window, with its pencil tool set to not select new lines. I can draw with no problems. On the left, Affinity Designer's pencil tool keeps lines selected, with nodes being a visual distraction as well as editing lines when I'm drawing too close to the last line I drew instead of making a new line. I want to be clear, drawing in the Pixel persona is not the solution I'm looking for. I'd like my lines to remain vector and editable after drawing, and to be able to do this from the Designer persona. Is this currently possible?

  9. Ok so. I've got some dash shapes I want to put inside different shapes (triangle, odd shape I drew) but I cannot figure out how to make these dashes go round the inside of the object to make it look like staples. I done one for a circle which was easy by using the transform panel and inputing 360/x for the R value, but I cannot figure it out for different shapes!
