  1. Latest update contains a lot of stuff but unfortunately I have experienced a lot of crashes since I installed it earlier today. Most notable when doing smart selection and refining.
  2. Hiya! I'm Eeva from Finland. I've been working as graphic designer for 16 years and most of it as freelancer. I recently changed all my tools from Adobe to Affinity as the versions I had were getting old (CS4) and I didn't afford to update to the latest versions. Also it would have required total update of my hardware which I wasn't too keen on doing so I was more than happy when I found out about Affinity's tools. One happy camper over here :)
  3. FANTASTIC! So fast with the import raw files from photos update, now I can finally start trying out the app!
  4. I saw the event at work and saw the presentation of the app. I got home bought it downloaded and now I'm waiting for an update because its not working properly on the iPad Pro 9.7..Ain't that a b***h! I think we "your customers" deserve extra goodies if and when you have the update. cause for $20.00 and not working product its not looking good for you the developers.
  5. Sorry - ignore the RAW engine question - double checked on the Mac and believe there was an update to the Apple Core engine missing - the CR2s from the Canon G5 X are now loading without distortion.
  6. Hi Guys Thank You for Creating this Affordable applications We give you all the promotion we can :) it is running Nicely on Mac an Windows and the new iPad version runs like a charm on our iPad Pro when we change the language settings from Swedish to English Hopeful that you send an update to fix this crashing bug so that we can use a Swedish keyboard Regards Svendus https://youtu.be/j9jyvzY7RdY
  7. Affinity Designer for Windows 1.6.0 is now live (this is an older thread). We are pleased to announce the second update for Affinity Designer for Windows (version 1.5.3). The update can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, close Affinity Designer and run (double click) the downloaded EXE to install it. A list of the fixes this release contains is being prepared and will be posted shortly. To install this version you will need to have the Affinity Designer for Windows already installed OR you will need to type in your email address and a valid Product key when prompted. When installing on top of an existing version you will not be prompted for the product key. If you need it you can find your product key (and a download button) in your Affinity store account, where you will also find the email address used to generate the key when you ordered the software. If you have installed any previous customer beta version of Affinity Designer 1.5.3, that beta can be safely uninstalled before or after installing this release update, they are independent installs. The beta will stop working soon anyway. Please report any problems you have installing or using this new version in the Windows forum here Patrick Connor The Affinity Team

  9. Affinity Photo 1.6.6 is now available on the Mac App Store. Affinity Photo 1.5.2 update now available on the Mac App Store Fixes include Fixed RAW / HDR on macOS 10.7, 10.8. Improved reliability of automatic lens corrections. Fixed some cosmetic stepper issues in Tone Mapping. Fixed a frequency separation crash in 32bit mode. Allow PSD import to skip over ‘psdM’ blocks. Fixed Undo Brush crashes. Fixed issues which could make the Library fail to load. Fixed a potential crash-on-close bug. Fixed a TIFF issue which was preventing people from working on existing documents, or loading some TIFF files properly. Fixed spelling issue that inserted the correctly spelt world without deleting the incorrect word. Numerous other stability improvements and fixes. Many thanks, Team Affinity
  10. Affinity Designer 1.6.0 update now available on the Mac App Store Affinity Designer 1.5.5 update now available on the Mac App Store Fixes include Reduce unwanted screen updates that caused visual artefacts when moving artboards around. Resolved issue with pixel layers inside symbols which are then transformed. Controversial change to pixel documents: 100% view now maps document pixels directly to screen pixels. If you have a retina Mac you will now see 100% view showing a pixel in the document on each pixel on your display. Wireframe view mode now allows the user to select locked items by click or marquee. Basically, if you're in wireframe view and you can see it, you can now click it to select it. This makes wireframe view much more useful for toggling on/off to select specific items in the document. With rulers visible and a high-frequency input device such as a pen tablet (or a mouse in macOS Sierra) the rulers would make the document update very slowly, this has been resolved. SVG export of gradients is now more compatible with QuickLook. Stability fixes for text. Fixed bug applying OpenType contextual rules. Fix for crashes with 32bit documents on Lion and Mountain Lion. Fix for right-clicking a text object in the Text tool failing to select the current word if the user is over the caret. Improved PSD import/export of HSL adjustments. Improved PSD import of fill layers with empty stroke masks and also parse line origination data. Import badly-formed PSD files created by Marmoset. Fix for occasional crash with embedded documents. PDF export fix for Overprint flag which was not getting unset at certain times, leading to items unintentionally overprinting. Fix for system chime noise when holding Cmd+Alt+Space. Fix for layers panel showing incorrect document information when changing from Separated window mode to normal mode if multiple documents are open. Fix for some images opening and saying they are 1dpi. Numerous other stability improvements and fixes. Many thanks, Team Affinity

  12. Hello, my name is Iain Harvie and have used Serif Programs and Applications for many years and have been extremely pleased at the choice, accuracy and value of all products. I hope this introduction is in the right section and I'm grateful for the opportunity to discuss my problem. When I saw Affinity Photo I bought and installed it straight away. Another wonderful App and of course I bought and downloaded Designer soon afterwards. However, when running the Designer installer it fails to install and there are no notifications after the initial Windows acknowledgement. I have tried downloading with three different browsers. I click acknowledgement to let the program make changes in Windows 10 [recently having installed the anniversary update] and Task Manager confirms that Affinity is running in the Background Processes but not that the Installer App is running and the process progression is stalled. After help from Affinity it was suggested that I leave the installation program running which I have done for many hours with no further response. I have tried stopping my Anti Virus during download and installation attempts and if it finds any problem with any new or updated programs it is set to ask whether it should be allowed to connect to the internet but no such warning is instigated with Designer. Has this problem been identified and solved by anyone else? I had no problems installing Photo on precisely the same system which meets all requirements. I would be extremely grateful for any help anyone may be able to give me and thanks very much in anticipation, Regards, Iain
  13. We usually do several updates a year. Since 1.5 was only launched in mid-November, there hasn't been enough time for a new update yet, especially as Windows was a new platform and had quite a few Windows-specific bugs (and we've the Christmas holidays in the middle). We did launch Photo for Windows in that period, so we have been busy. The beta for 1.6 should start within a month or so.
  14. Hi mkdm, Which version are you using? There was already one update (mostly bug fixes). The latest version is 1.5.1.43
  15. No news. And after more than one month the printers have forgotten it? :( And within one month it was not possible to update the pictures on https://affinity.serif.com/de/designer/workbook/ and use correct quotation marks there. ;)
  16. Really like Affinity 1.5 and looking forward to the next update. I'd like to see a better sharpening tool. Happy New Year... Tad
  17. An update to my previous post re: shipping damage to the ADW. I spoke to Amazon and they take using the right packaging for the right item very seriously. This arrived in an official; Amazon box, but had no padding, so every hit/drop it took went through the thin cardboard directly into the cover, making it look like a second hand book by the time it arricved in my hands. A few pictures taken with my mobile phone are attached.https://www.dropbox.com/sh/h9loo0liyk7n3eb/AADc9U6p_SOPD0XBX7LCbxZja?dl=0 Still, I love the contents even though it looks a bit war weary. What condition did your ADW from Amazon.com arrve looking like? Michael Michael
  18. I had this initially. Shutting down my Mac Air for a minute then restarting it, had the Affinity Photo 1.5.1 update waiting for me (and probably most others) in the Mac App Store updates section.
  19. Thank you for getting back with me. I tried your suggestions TWICE, no change. There are NO updates listed. If I try to get the update through the app store, it asks for $39.99. Yes, the AppleID is the same; it is the only one I have. The original app was purchased through tha App Store, so there may be an issue with them, I just don't know. So, what is the next step? I have wasted a LOT of time yesterday and today trying to get the update. How do we fix this issue??
  20. Hi Tom, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Sorry the delay getting back to you. With the launch of Affinity Photo for both platforms (Win and Mac) things have been quite busy. Are you logged in the App Store with the same Apple ID used to buy the application? Can you try to log-out and log-in again in the Mac App Store please? If that doesn't solve the issue you can try to delete the MAc App Store cache: 1. Close the Mac App Store 2. Open the Terminal app. Copy and paste the following command and press Enter: open $TMPDIR/../C This will open a Finder window. 3. Drag the com.apple.appstore folder that's inside there to the Trash. This folder is just a cache. It will be recreated as soon as you run the Mac Store app again. 4. Reboot your system. 5. Run the Mac Store app and try to update Affinity again.
  21. Have now found the update. Great. Nik plug ins now all working. Brilliant. Thank you.
  22. I have V 1.4.3 How do I download the update please?
  23. Are you sure you're looking in the right place? Open "App Store" on your Mac and select "Updates" from the menu at the top. After a bit of searching the store, it should show Affinity Photo, Version 1.5.1 as the latest available update. I updated from 1.4.3 to 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 without any trouble at all and without charge.
  24. I purchased 1.4x with the understanding/promise that V1.5 would be a free upgrade. You state that it is a free upgrade in the App Store. No, it is not. It's $40 How do I get the FREE upgrade I was promised? Sorry if I sound a bit terse, but I have been taken by promises like this before. Given your company's reputation, I expected to receive the update. So, how do we proceed? Thanks for your time.Tom McElvy
  25. Of course not. Similar to what MEB said earlier, the only paid updates would have to have a different first integer (1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and so on). Any update in the 1.xxx is a free update. So to update, do you have a Windows or Mac computer? For Mac, you check the Updates section in the App Store. For Windows, I'm not sure. Edit: Nevermind. For Windows, I forgot about this topic. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/30048-how-do-we-get-affinity-store-windows-updates/
