One bit of functionality that seems not to have come over from desktop is the ability to click where the rulers intersect in order to quickly switch between different units of measure. (I've only tested this on Publisher on iPad) Granted, on desktop it's a right-click to get this, but 1) even right-clicking a connected mouse doesn't invoke it on iPad, and 2) I'm sure that matching the ability to do it at all is what really matters, more than matching the desktop's implementation method. Seems to me a single tap in this spot would be a fine way to bring up a menu of units.

Hallo, ich arbeite an einem Ausmalbuch in Affinity Publisher und bin dabei alle Bilder auf die Buchseiten zu platzieren. Gestern konnte ich problemlos alle Bilder platzieren. Heute musste ich nochmal etwas nachbessern aber es lassen sich keine Bilder mehr platzieren, auch nicht mit der Bilderrahmen Funktion. ich habe darauf hin eine ganz neue Datei erstellt und wollte alles noch einmal machen. Jetzt ist es so, das ich lediglich 6 Bilder platzieren kann, dann reagiert auch hier die Bild Platzierung nicht mehr. ich habe es mehrmals mit neuen Dateien versucht, jedesmal mit dem gleichen Ergebnis. Mein iPad hat genug Speicherplatz. Ich habe Puplisher deinstalliert und neu heruntergeladen mit dem gleichen Ergebnis. Was könnte mir da helfen? Bzw. was mache ich falsch? lg von Sissi

I’m having an issue where Adobe CC fonts installed on my iPad frequently don’t work in any of my Affinity products except…sometimes they do? There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason. Even within the same hour, an Adobe font will work in Designer but not in Publisher, then that same font will start showing up in Publisher but not in Designer. Then later disappear from both. Here’s an example of the same document open in Publisher and Designer. In this instance, the Publisher version is what the document should look like. But earlier, the roles were reversed and it looked good Designer but not in Publisher. This is just one example, I am having this same issue with multiple Adobe fonts. I am also having the issue that others are having with font names being displayed in Chinese when selected. I am on an iPad 12.9 6th Gen (M2) 1TB running iPad iOS 16.2.

I have the same issue. I installed a font on the Creative Cloud app on my iPad Pro. It is working fine in all Apple apps like Pages. But it is not working on Affinity. The Font name shows up in the Font list in Affinity Publisher, it is even shown written with the proper glyph shapes. But if I set a text to this font, it will be shown as missing font and will be displayed with a substitute font. I tried closing and reopening the app (clearing it from the recent apps screen) but it does not help. It is a bit discouraging that this issue has not been corrected in more than a year now. I was very excited using the affinity apps on my iPad and switching to Affinity from Creative Cloud but this is my very first test of Affinity Publisher, and I came across this issue straight away and cannot find a solution. UPDATE: I just uninstalled and reinstalled the font, then closed and reopened Affinity Publisher and now it is working. I do not know if it will be working from now on, or next time it will be broken again. Will definitely post if I have more issues.

Hi, I am currently working on creating a design for a PDF in my company, and I started by creating the publisher file on my Windows work computer using Affinity Publisher 2. I saved it to my Google Drive, and then I wanted to continue on my Ipad Pro M2 in Affinity Publisher 2. But I cannot open the file. When I on the Ipad click on Open -> Open Document -> Choose Google Drive -> The publisher (afpub) file is grayed out and cannot be opened. I also tried to see if I could import it instead, but it's the same problem. I can still open it on the Windows computer in Publisher.

please advise how to select only some pages for export to PDF .... in the settings I see only two options, either all or the current page .... but I want to select more only some pages

Operating System and Version: iOS 17.2.1 / ipad pro 11-inch 2nd generation Issue at hand: Unable to edit, import or open a publisher file on my ipad. Originally, I created my file on my ipad, but once I started to get lagging issues, and the app started crashing (I'm assuming due to the file size.. It started lagging around 400 pages in) I continued to work on my project on my windows computer. I was able to complete everything I needed to on windows using the trial period, but I need to add hyperlinks to my pages now, which I would prefer to do on my ipad. Unfortunately, now that I'm trying to import the file back onto my ipad the file doesn't open and immediately crashes the app. The file is roughly a 900 page digital planner that I'm working on. Unfortunatley it looks like that upload might have failed as I can only see your original file and no package - not sure if thats because the zip on Dropbox is the same name as the one you tried to upload? I've had a look on a different MacBook Air and it is still rendering fine for me on both Designer and Photo 2.4.2. Your sig mentions Ventura - are you still using this or have you upgraded to Sonoma? All the machines I'm using are Sonoma. Also regarding screens have you tried disconnecting any external screens and just using the Macbook Pro's built in screen? I'm wondering if this is another issue that is being exhibited, by the rendering oddies that appear when using two screens with different scaling. As I mentioned previously the screen you launched the app on and the app window on all has an affect on what happens, so that might explain potentially why 2.4.1 Retail looks fine and 2.4.2 isn't/2.4.2 Publisher is ok. Have you tried loading the file on your iPad to see how it renders on that?

Good morning, I switched from Affinity 1 to Universal Licence Affinity V2. When I use Affinity publisher on my iPad I cannot open a file stored on google Drive. I just cannot tap on it to open it. But if I move the file to the Affinity publisher folder stored locally, then it works! Why? Not being able to work on afpub files stored online defeat the purpose of working seamlessly between Mac and iPad How can I solve that? Thank you very much Sapaka

Hello, I have both the iPad Publisher and the Publisher for Mac. I created a project on the iPad and when I wanted to open it on the Mac I got an error message, saying it cannot be opened because the file was created in a “later” version of Affinity Publisher. Both the iPad and the Mac versions are the latest version. Any ideas? Many thanks, Robert

I paid for Photo, Designer, Publisher V1 for Windows I paid for Photo, Designer, Publisher V1 for Mac (even before owing a Mac, just to support Affinity) I paid for Photo, Designer V1 on iPad I paid for V2 universal license (upgrade) i Paid for all 3 Workbooks. I raised ~100 bug reports, 50% serious bugs. Hi everyone, especially Affinity staff, is there a way to install custom hyphenation and/or spellchecking dictionaries for the iPad version of Affinity Publisher? And if not (we would have probably found it by now), are you working on it? Is there any - however remote - introduction plan? About a month ago, I posted this question, but didn't get any answer whatsoever on this part. Could someone from Affinity please read this and give me an honest reply? As this is the only support channel, it would be quite fair of you... I understand that you may have different feature introduction plan that may not suit me, but does suit many other users, but please, tell me, whether you are going to address this issue, or whether I should look for a different solution. Because working hyphenation is a crucial component of any DTP software, isn't it? And there are a lot of people that publish in other languages than English... (I need Latin and Czech, for example) Thanks a lot, anyway, I'm so glad that you have finally introduced the iPad version! (although in current state quite unusable for me...)

We are pleased to announce version 2.4.1 updates for the Affinity Suite on all platforms. While it would be good to bundle more spelling and hyphenation dictionaries for Mac and Windows to avoid users having to figure this out on their own and then ask for tech support, I think this is a real issue for Publisher on iPad. Not only can you not hyphenate many languages on iPad, the lack of hyphenation means hyphenated documents would flow differently on desktop vs. iPad for many common languages such as Dutch, Danish, Czech, Polish, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, and Greek.

I want the designs to match perfectly so that if you looked at the front and then the back, the effects would be just like if you was looking at the front of a car, then the back of a car. I've found that you can flip horizontal and vertical, etc. But... it doesn't reorder the layers as if you flipped it to looking at the back. Reordering meaning the front image should become the very back image when flipped, the next front image is behind the first front image is placed to the next back position, etc, when everything is flipped. The order of layers should be changed on the flip. Any ideas how to do this in Affinity Designer, Photo, and or Publisher for iPad? (Preferably Designer).

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Publisher v2.4.2 is not letting me navigate documents, printing them etc. Reverted to 2.3.1 and all is good again. Yes, my files are stored on Dropbox. It's not corrupting files otherwise they wouldn't work in previous versions anymore either I would assume (and I would have loads more trouble in other apps too). When I'm away from my desk I'd like to be able to work on my iPad and have access to all my work. I think we can expect cloud storage and software to work together in this day and age (and I'm not pointing any fingers). But there's clearly something different and or affecting v2.4.2. I didn't even trash preferences or app support files in the library, just put v2.3.1 in the app folder and opened the files which weren't working in 2.4.2 (2.4.0 has the same issue). There's more than just not being able to navigate in the file. I've had the software hanging on opening the resource window, not responding to a Quit command (it closes the open file but then doesn't quit, just sits there). At least I can keep working. Any news on this topic? I have all my publisher files for a choir I belong to on that choir’s Google drive. I really don’t want to have to copy them, creating duplicates in the process. This runs the risk of using wrong versions at some point. I only bought the iPad version so I could make changes on the move. It seems I’ve wasted my money.
