  1. £2.81 delivered in very good condition, be rude not to. Click, done! Fantastic, I've seen some great work come out of that app too, often thanks to some great brushes.
  2. Makes me think a little of Octospider characters from an Arthur C Clarke novel that communicate using moving bands of colour. But cuter!
  3. Ha! Thought I'd thought of it! :) How quickly things slip when not using a tool all the time! After taking a look, it's visible in PagePlus after a lollipop hover then disappears when the cursor moves; is movable after a lollipop click.
  4. As far as I know Mario there's no custom scaling of the res of slice export regions, although that may change in updates. For now you can export individual objects/layers at the native res/size as per your document setup, and @2x for higher res display. Others have also requested more output scaling options for slices/objects/layers, and a way to export selected objects via the Export dialog without using slices at all (which would suit you best I think). In the meantime I'd suggest scaling your artwork to the desired size (1") on the page and export the object using a slice; scaling is non-destructive so any raster work you set to a new temporary size for export will be original quality when you revert to original scale. Or just undo after scaling & exporting to revert to the original size.
  5. Hi Mario, I would suggest you export your design and scale at export time, or if it's the right size just export the logo on its own. Choose File > Export, select a format and choose the size, set the resample method that best suits your work, then click Export. There are also other export methods for selected objects or custom regions, they are all covered in this set of videos: Export your design Export a layer Export a slice Cheers, Dale.
  6. Could make the rotation centre visible after a hover over the rotation lollipop? A modifier key could be quicker though.
  7. This was tweeted by new Affinity user Nabeena, hope she doesn't mind me sharing it here too, I love it. :)
  8. I just edited a brush, closed the panel, painted, then edited the brush a second time. The original was nicest but I forgot some of what I'd changed and what the original values were because I was messing about. Sorry for not knowing this already, I've looked in Help and think it could be slightly clearer: "Reset returns all stroke settings to those of the saved brush preset", but is that the last time the brush was edited and the dialog was closed, or the installed 'factory default'? Ta!
  9. Would the layer effects appear below the affected layer, as if children? I can visualise expanding a collection of them with a triangle of their own over by the fx indicator, appearing below the affected layer might be odd compared to adjustments that appear above. Or am I overthinking it?
  10. How about shortcut keys for switching between personas (and app switching when Affinity Photo lands). Persona switch could be one shortcut that toggles through them rather than a key per persona. Ta.
  11. Hi Mike, keep an eye out for Affinity Photo that will debut as a free beta in a couple of months ;)
  12. From Twitter conversation https://twitter.com/Writer_Dale/status/521559024580689921 with designer @sophistifunk. 1. I turned on all the "snap" features I could find, and couldn't snap a guide to lines or points a ) Snapping a guide to line objects and shapes works for me, but not snapping a guide to "points" assuming that's curve nodes. Is not being able to edit a guide while nodes are visible a limitation by design, a potential improvement? I know guide editing is much discussed too. b ) I think having "all snapping features" on including Snap to Units could cause snapping so fine it appears not to work until at high zooms, so I guess is by design unless we learn more. 2. Arbitrary guides from shapes would also be nice. I can't expand on that, it's not something I've used. Thanks, Dale.
  13. Not a problem for me, but it is mentioned as 'missing' in our lowest rated US app store review, I'm assuming that's down to the delay. It feels longer than I'm used to, though that's coming from Windows.
  14. FWIW I've been enjoying something similar recently, especially the subtler effect used in Gabriel Silveira's Astronaut http://www.gabrielsilveira.com/Grasso-e-Bello http://www.gabrielsilveira.com/Astronauta http://www.gabrielsilveira.com/Amazing-Sci-Fi-Comics-127
  15. Haven't seen this mentioned but do sometimes see people asking about tools and buttons as if tool tips don't exist, and one US App Store review says we don't have tool tips. I think it's just the tool tip delay, it feels quite long and I assumed that's because the pro designers this product is made for don't want that cr** in their way. Rightly so. Is there a happier medium, a slightly shorter delay that keeps things clean but 'friendlier'? Or a delay that changes after the first 30 launches?
  16. Jack somehow looks more content than ever, great characters LPF.
  17. Lol the growing community is good fun to work with. Think I dozed a bit between 2 and 5. Then drove for a bit. Greetings from sunny Germany! Peter, does unpicking any of the samples help? Am sure we can do more to help as well with a little more info.
  18. Way to make me lol and wake up my wife Mike!
  19. The Export persona in Affinity Designer is extremely flexible, allowing you to export whole pages, individual objects and layers, and custom regions as slices. Check the links for tutorials on each method. Visit our tutorials album for our growing set of videos. Thanks! Dale.
