  1. Thank you so much for sharing these pledges. My comments below are in regards to #1. Presonus, the developer of the Studio One music production software started off with perpetual licenses and later announced its subscription plan. No surprise, there was intense vocal concern expressed by those who had paid for a perpetual license and gladly willing to pay for updates. Presonus wisely offered two paths, perpetual licenses with for pay upgrades, and the subscription model which offered access to range of add-ons at no extra cost beyond the monthly subscription fee. In this situation, Presonus had cast the widest possible net to keep everyone in the fold rather than losing loyal supporters. Best wishes for the continued success of Affinity!!!
  2. Yes! There were exciting discoveries along the way. Cheers!
  3. Over years, the Affinity team has established a stellar track record of continuously advancing AD, AP, and APub. The applications, the books, and tutorials have been top notch! Years ago, I started with Deneba Canvas which became an integral component of my thought process. Then, on short notice, development ceased! It was troubling and traumatic, but that lead to purchasing the Adobe Creative Suite 3 (ACS3). A learning curve aside, the transition to the Adobe suite was an exciting time and supercharged my creative endeavors. Then came the subcription model... In 2014, I purchased AD and began a new journey, embracing AP, and later Publisher. I snatched the V2 Universal license and add-ons without hesitation. There was peace of mind and optimism along the way... I have functioning older computers systems that still run Canvas and the various versions of CS. At the moment there will be at least two systems that will run Affinity V2 into the future. But even in moments of mindfulness, it's hard to ignore real rumblings of concern... Best wishes to all. Fingers of both hands crossed that this new situation goes well.
  4. The situation has now been resolved by Affinity Support! Initially they instructed me to Clear User Data screen by holding down the CTRL key then click on the Photo or Designer icon and then click open, in the Clear User Data screen select the Reset Account Data option and then click clear. This will clear the store content and when you log back into your Affinity account it will then resync your store content within the apps. This action did not resolve my situation. Next, Affinity support asked their servers to do a force resync of my store content. I was instructed to then log out of my Account in the app and then relog in. That action resolved the issue and now all of my content appears in all three apps which is fantastic!!!
  5. I'm on a Mac as previously indicated in the original post. The control key does not function as you describe.
  6. Thank you. Yes I did. Several times, and again after updating to v2.0.4. I contacted Affinity. Let's see what they have to say.
  7. Correction: All but one purchased and free add ons acquired from the Affinity Store are not appearing in the app My add on window. 8. Hello, This issue has not been resolved even with the recent v2.0.4 update. I'm not sure what to do next. It looks like this forum is the designated place to resolve issues.
  9. Looking forward to the AP2 course! Just added Affinity Designer: Solid Foundations to my library. Cheers to peace and propserity in 2023.
  10. Season greetings! I was thrilled to purchase the Universal license from Affinity. After installing all three apps, I was asked sign in to my account - as expected - when launching Designer v2 for the time. The universal license and previously purchased add-ons appear in my Affinity webite account. The Account button in the apps is green and the page indicates that the app(s) are licensed to me. The issue: Nothing appears in the app My add-ons section on the right side of the window. When I go sign into my Affinity account and attempt to manually download content, the Sync your content directly to your apps appears. In the app, Always install available content is checked on, and no file size is set. (The attachment shows the free Felix Hernandez brushes that I installed from my Affinity website account.) Have I missed a step? It's not big issue to manually download the content, but I would to take advantage of the automated option. System specs: 2017 MBP, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, macOS 13.1 Thanks.
  11. CartoonMike, Thanks so much for the Pumpkin tutorial. Looks amazing. Can't wait to work through it, Be well!
  12. Hello, I started but never finished this amazing book when still using CS6. I know that Affinity Photo contains many of the same or similar functions as PS, so working through the book with AP seems reasonable. Has anyone here used AP to work on projects from Katrin Eisman's Masking & Compositing book? If so, any insights to share? Cheers!
  13. I think you've confirmed my decision to have a common folder for brushes, etc., but have also pointed to many other useful options to make restoring the apps a breeze during a future clean or new installation. Thanks!
  14. Hello, I recently started organizing the various Resources available here as well as PSD brushes and AI ASE swatch libraries. Separate Photo and Designer folders were set up in my Documents folder with subfolders for brushes, colors, gradients, and styles. At some point, I realized that the brushes can be imported into both Photo and Designer. Same with colors, gradients, and styles. This changed my folder structure to one set common to both applications: Brushes, Colors, etc. Palettes are imported as needed rather than having a long list of application palettes in each document. Does this make sense? How are other users organizing their resources? Thanks, Wally
  15. Thank you for that! I'm comfortable looking for stuff in various place such as Application Support, and Preferences. This is the first time I've had reason to look inside the Container folder. Thanks again.
  16. Hello, Saving presets in the various panels - Basic, Details, Tones - is easy enough. But where are they actually located on the computer? I'm asking because I want to be able to back them up in case I need to restore them after a clean installation of my system. As of today: Mac OSX 10.11.6 Thank you, Wally
  17. Outstanding!!! Thank you for sharing.
  18. This is fantastic! Thank you so much!!!
  19. Purchased and installed Affinity Photo as soon as the word got out. Thank you so much for these tutorials! Bravo to the Affinity team!!!
  20. The potential of Affinity Photo in it's current beta state is mighty impressive!
  21. Hi Peter, Thank you for the links. Best, Wally
  22. Hello, New Affinity Designer user here. Used Deneba Canvas from v 3.5 through 10. Switched to Adobe CS3 when Mac development of Canvas ceased. Was ok with paying Adobe the upgrade fees. Became outraged with the subscription-only option. My graphics use is primarily for constructing presentation visuals mostly from scratch. There are many months of each year that I'm not using any graphics tools. Why pay a monthly fee for that??? I'm incredibly excited to be get up to speed with the Affinity suite of tools while continuing to use CS6 for the time being. Archiving is a big deal. There's a dual-boot G4 here to run OS9 and OS X 10.4.x. Talk about a mind-numbing legacy conversion campaign lasting several months! Soon there will be Mac set up to run CS6 in the future when needed. It is clear to me based on my short time with Affinity Designer, that it and Affinity Photo will be my tools of use in the very near future. I'm self taught and not a graphics pro. Best regards, Wally
