I'm wondering why don't you just use HarfBuzz? It's MIT licensed, so it's bright from a legal side. And it's even used in many products, Chromium as an example. I purchased a license for Affinity Designer and was thinking of leaving Photoshop to Affinity Photo but it seems like I made a wrong decision. I even suggested Affinity apps for some colleagues considering them as well-made apps as I thought they were in-place replacements for adobe's apps, but I was wrong.
At least share your roadmap with us so we can know where exactly this feature is.
I am using the draw, page and photo plus series of products on Windows and Illustator CS6 on OSX (pre subscription only), and I am waiting for RTL support before switching to . It's not much fun typing Hebrew backwards.

Haha. I think you may have missed Fixx's post from the previous page. That's okay. I also noticed that the line coming down looks like part of the pencil's sketch.
Photo's indication is obvious, but I wonder if Publisher's icon is supposed to look like the side of a thick book.
I've been using AD and AP for a while now, and here is my take on the thread's subject. I use the Windows variant and i have an absolute hate for at least 90% of the logos used on this OS. The logo's either look dated, plain ugly and/or cheap...
Anyway, credits to @m4nticore (link) and @ronniemcbride (link) for inspiring me.
OH MY!!! Looking at these images I just now realize that this triangular shape in the middle is supposed to be a pencil drawing a line! I’ve never recognized it as that, the AD logo always just looked like an abstract triangular thing to me.
mind → blown.
Come on, RTL support in Affinity products is something both those from Israel and the surrounding Arab countries can agree on. Think of it as contributing to world peace.
It seems that the developers of Affinity Photo do not have any plan to support RTL languages any time soon.
I recommend using Pixelmator Pro as an alternative for Affinity Photo, as it supports RTL.
It's really amazing, and a one-time payment app as well.
I purchased Affinity Designer before a year and now 90% i work on Affinity only but really missing RTL support. I am really waiting for Arabic support.
I'm sure we would have heard by now if RTL support were coming in version 1.7. I don't expect to see it before version 2.0, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it still isn't here by version 3.0.
Imagine everybody start writing in their own languages. You would waste your time in translations and in one moment you will start to hate this forum and try to avoid it because of this.
