cleay got a reaction from Rudolphus in Curve Path Text to ordinary curve
Bump. Seems like there should be a way to extract a curve from text-on-curve. Perhaps the path should be treated like a child later of the text (or vice versa) — so it's possible to drag it out from underneath to release...

    Lol. Is that rhetorical?? 🙃
If not, try it. It's magically delicious!

Thanks Lee, that's what I've done (export as EPS and place in to indesign), but it's pretty easy to end up with a long list of linked files. Direct copy and paste of editable vectors would be the ideal. Perhaps when publisher arrives!...

cleay got a reaction from hawk in Designer: how an item becomes a "snapping candidate"?
I'm encountering these same layering issues with snapping - seems it's not possible to snap to objects below an existing snapping candidate. So far I've been managing it by hiding / showing layers and sorting the object stack, but it's not ideal.

Is there an issue with allowing the addition of candidates through / below existing candidates? Otherwise perhaps a way to remove them as discussed above...

Just tried AD 1.6 with Indesign CC – nope. Still need an old copy of illustrator messing up my system just for this. Arg.

OK. I think that a toolbar preference for scaling proportionally for all elements (stroke width, corners, effects etc...) might be a good idea - instead of the current situation where you set 'scale with object' checkboxes for each one (stroke, shadow, glow etc...).

Any progress on a preference to disable scrubby zoom? - my trackpad button is rapidly wearing out from clicking a dozen times every time I have to zoom in on something...

Great, thanks! - it's the handle floating outside the bottom right of the group for anyone else wondering!

I second this request. This idea seems far more intuitive (even after 20+yrs of the old method!) and makes the traditional pen tool behaviour seem a bit archaic...

Thanks A_B_C! I checked this a few months back (it worked then, but only with the magnifier tool selected and not with any other tool selected) - this must be new?
Great to know, but I'd still much prefer a preference to choose between the scrubby and marquee methods...

A very big second to this request please. A preference to enable the old marquee zoom method would be amazing. It's pretty frustrating for me as it is!...

Any progress on a preference for the old drag-a-rectangle zoom method?
I've tried, but after 20 odd years of the old way the new scrub method just doesn't work for me (the new way is also much, much harder to zoom a long way into a point quickly: drag a small rectangle vs. click drag, click drag, click drag, click drag etc...).

Can I second Hokusai's request for a preference to enable the old drag-a-rectangle zoom method? I much prefer the old way. Even a modifier would do.
