  1. Hi to all, The straightening tool from the crop menu is producing jagged lines. This was only a very minor adjustment. Windows 10, external edit from LR to AP, tiff converted to .afphoto Affects both 1.7.2.471 stable and beta 1.7.3.476 Hope you can help me. Thanks, Peter. 2. Now, while doing your 1:1 crop, with one stroke of the mouse wheel you have your image setup for the easy crop you're looking for
  3. If you change preferences the problem will not be a problem anymore. Preferences => Tools => Check "Use mouse wheel to zoom" You will see how easy the cropping now will be. Regards, Peter
  4. The highlights radius is only on 30 and causing such halos. If I want to get rid of the halos then 0 is the only option, besides bringing the strength down as well. In that case however I much rather prefer the new "Default".
  5. I'm not totally convinced about the 1.6 yet, producing bad halos. Default not showing this problem. Probably some more work needs to be done.
  6. I cannot confirm or reproduce. Both, stable version and beta .424, do not cause me any problems with the Clone Brush. This applies to my desktop as well as laptop. Both i5 on w10.
  7. I only have one selection under Antropics. I don't really understand what you mean by a selection with three dots. I don't see anything like that. Where do you see it? For the moment this plugin for v18 doesn't work for me. On my laptop v17 is doing fine. I can't reactivate v17 on my desktop as confirmed by Antropics. Thanks for your help. Peter
  8. Yes, vs 17 works fine. I can't get vs18 going, that applies both to my desktop and laptop. I'm confused, perhaps somebody has a suggestion. Thanks, Peter
  9. Hi, I can't get it to work (vs. 18 Studio) What version of Portrait Pro do you have? Thanks, Peter
  10. I need a DAM which has similar features as LR and is CAPABLE OF IMPORTING MY LR CATALOGUE! I understand this is a tall order, considering Adobe having worked at it for many years. However, I am still very hopeful. Thanks, Peter
  11. Alternatively just click on the word "hardness" "Flow" or "Opacity" and drag right to increase value and left to decrease.
  12. Also a much wider range of effect for the new Live Clarity Filter. Something like LR Thanks a lot, Peter
  13. Mine is perfectly stable, both 1.6.5.123 as well as 1.7.0.188. I can't get them to crash no matter how hard I am trying. Thought this might be helpful.
  14. Yes, I'm also a little bit confused about the new shadows/ highlights live filter. It doen't seem to work for me either.
  15. Over the past couple of weeks I'v been reading about various complaints relating to performance issues with Affinity Photo. I don't want to make light about these complaints, I am sure they are all real and genuine. At this stage I just want to sound a positive message. None of these problems have occurred to my machines, a desktop and a laptop. Both are older i5 machines with 8Gb RAM each, so nothing to rave about. I have tried to recreate several of these issues and none of them showed up. (with the exception pen driven tablets which I do not use) I have no explanation why this is the case. Both machines are flying with AP. Certainly not any slower than PS. I am therefore extremely happy with AP. There are countless workflow advantages over PS. I am sure they are all well known and don't need further explanation. Because of all this I am very thankful to the dev team for all their hard work and accomplishments! Regards to all, Peter
  16. Thanks Dominic, yes I am looking forward to these developments. gr. Peter
  17. Hi Dominic, Thank you for your suggestion to use the NIK collection. I am familiar with it, actually using some of its lovely features. I do however not use the film grain simulation. The quality is not very good, really just noise instead of (random) grain. The only one I can think of doing a pretty good job is DXO FilmPack. Unfortunately the plugin does not work with AP. Thanks anyway, Peter
  18. As an old photographer, having spent many many hours in the darkroom, I have really come to appreciate AP. For me it works better than LR/PS. Thank you developers. I am looking for realistic film grain. The Add Noise filter is not suitable. Some contributors on this forum have referred to LR, doing such a good job. Well, yes they have a nice module with a couple of sliders, the idea is very good, but there it stops. The results are very poor. I will explain why. In the darkroom you focus on the grain, resulting in a beautiful sharp grain effect. This nice grain effect gives the photograph a false sense of additional sharpness. Grain, by itself always takes away a little bit of detail. Yet the impression of a well enlarged photograph is one of atmosphere and enhanced detail, and let’s be honest, a photograph is made for the eye of the beholder. That’s what it’s all about. LR’s implementation works exactly the opposite. When you increase the grain size slider, the image (and the grain) will be blurred. This is exactly not what you want to accomplish in the darkroom, and it certainly does not enhance the photograph. There is one company out there, actually using the LR grain engine for there own software and thereby fooling many who don’t really know what grain is supposed to look like. So, here is an opportunity for the AP developers. This is a niche. A good working solution, implemented in AP will appeal to a large number of photographers. Peter
  19. Dev. Team, Thank you so much for the latest update. For me, this works like a dream. Peter
  20. Thank you Dev. Team for all your hard work! Unfortunately the Perspective Live Filter is still shutting down the program almost immediately after starting the filter. It does not leave a crash report. Peter
  21. Thanks for your speedy reply. The slider you are referring to, on my machine, only goes as far as 1024px, following your message I tried the bracket shortcut keys and, yes, I can go all the way up to 4096. I am extremely pleased!!! Thank you again!
  22. Thank you for all your hard work, latest beta working very well. Just one request, is there any way to substantially enlarge the liquify brush?
