File Save As dialog - Filename suffix
Pšenda replied to JLGF1's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Where can I configure a prefix / suffix that will always be added to each filename? -

More flexibility yes, but even here you can not set parameters for filenames permanently for "every save". -

But this is just an "example" of how the prefix/suffix definitions can be look. It has nothing to do with Affinity SaveAs/Export dialogs. -

But JLGF1 requires "configurable filename suffix", which can not be set. -

[ADe] Is there any line smoothing? (implemented)
Pšenda replied to GRScott's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
I tried to convert a similar image from raster to vector. Although it is a slightly different task (vectorization is more complex), the result is quite good. So it can definitely be improved. -
Default Save As to Any Format
Pšenda replied to JayH's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
So what do you think? How does it relate to my message? In most applications, and not just for image editing, SaveAs will switch the workspace to this saved file. And because this file can not reasonably continue at work, the original work file must be reopened. System, which divides files to worked and exported, suits me more. At least the exported files are not in Recent history, where only work files remain. -
But that's what you want. You want the Warp tool to display the image from the other side of the canvas. I only add, that in order for it to be done correctly, the material and transparency of the canvas must be defined. Your example is correct only for a transparent foil. Standard paper should be white, double-sided printed paper with the same image should be show mirror-turned portion, ...
-
But this is a deformation of the "canvas", not the printed outputs.

Example from Photoshop is impressive, but totally unrealistic. Only if the material and the transparency of the canvas was defined, because I would have imagined that from behind would be visible white paper :-)

Default Save As to Any Format
Pšenda replied to JayH's topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
But saving "your work" is possible only in native Affinity format, where store all layers, filters, adjusts, etc. Other formats only export the result of your work, that can not be continued anymore. Therefore "Export". -
The existing way of locking the layer does not protect its contents from unwanted change. It only provides protection before selecting from canvas area and moving contents (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/53707-lockingunlocking-layers/&do=findComment&comment=271924). But it would also be useful to ensure protecting the layer from unwanted contents modifications. For example, as it is solved in Photoshop, with "Fully" and "Partialy" lock (https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/moving-stacking-locking-layers.html). Related Threads

But I would expect it to be so, and that's why I ask for the importance of "locking". I would expect the same meaning as the lock for the Aspect ratio locking, which will not allow it to change. In my opinion, protecting the layer from unwanted modifications while maintaining its visibility would be useful. It can be renamed, moving in hierarchy, hidden/unhidden, but no change of content.

Menus
Pšenda replied to jackamus's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
It is not classical shortcuts, it is keys for menu item manipulation without mouse. Basic menu status. Menu after "Alt" key pressing - highlighted letters in menu item names (therefore nothing has to be remembered), which is used to select the appropriate menu item. Menu after "v" key pressing - the View menu is expanded, and highlighted letters in yours menu item names, which is used to select the appropriate menu item. And so on until the required item is selected. Just as you would when selecting the mouse, it's enough to just click one finger. Moving in menu item structure is possible also with arrow key and Enter. -
But Serif does not say "it's OK". Serif only submit - that it is ("...and some of those topics make multiple suggestions"). In my opinion, even from the point of view of new users, one thread with a complete description of the problem is far more beneficial, than the incomplete dozens of identical threads.

Do you think that posting to an existing thread will not do the same service, and that it is better to create dozens of threads with the same content?

dutchschader write: "alt-v and than d and your in studio". The keyboard shortcuts for moving in the menu replace the lengthy mouse clicks. -

You do not need to remember keyboard shortcuts for menu navigation. When you press Alt, the appropriate letter is always displayed. -

This would definitely be interesting when you click on the checked menu item. It would allow you to continue checking other items.
