  1. Look into using Channels to make selections; can be used to make super fine selections on things like hair, or fur, to avoid that ‘halo’ effect
  2. You’ll probably need to export from Affinity Photo, and then uniformly reduce the pixel dimensions 🤷‍♂️ In Photoshop the Save for Web export function has tonnes of settings if you have access to that...
  3. Resorted to using the iOS record too. Are you looking for something similar to how Procreate Does it?
  4. It seems to work copying an image from a Google/ Safari search too. After copying, I’ll usually just hold down with one finger in an open doc until a prompt to Paste appears
  5. Sounds like something that can be done in Illustrator and Indesign, like inputting precise values for the X and Y axis. Would like to see that too
  6. I’m pretty sure you can copy from Procreate to an open Designer doc (unless I’m misunderstanding). I do it all the time
  7. Do you set up Document Palettes in your Swatch settings? It helps me when I want to continuously sample a particular set of colours
  8. Now that I think of it, I’m pretty sure it’s just the desktop version where fidelity settings can be tweaked. But I’ll include a video below recorded on my iPad on a way you might approach handling your line work: I’m using the Pencil, with the Rope Stabiliser turned on, it seems to auto-smooth on the fly, so that might help (and obviously delete individual nodes if there are too many). The second example, I use the Pen tool to draw a line, which can then be adjusted by selecting all/individual nodes, and then selecting Round Corners tool to smooth. The second method is what I use all the time to trace over my sketches. Might help IMG_0118.MOV
  9. That’s annoying, I’m pretty sure you can save stroke profiles on the desktop version, which I would expect to find for iOS
  10. I think in stroke settings, you can decide which side of the stroke increases in thickness, but not %100 sure. At least the graph editor will get you some of the way in tapering the thickness of each individual stroke
  11. Are you sure all those nodes are ‘fused‘/joined... looks like the top two are on top of each other, but maybe not joined correctly 🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. There’s a lot of nodes there, could delete a couple and smooth over again. Or adjust fidelity settings for the pencil tool, so less points are created when you initially draw, thereby creating an easier set of nodes for the smooth function to deal with 🤷🏻‍♂️
  13. That sounds pretty annoying, would have though you’d get a Serif response by now
  14. I used to animate in Adobe Animate by creating all my characters and assets in Illustrator, and then pasting across. Actually did some of the inbetweens for mouth shapes this way too. Could use Designer in conjunction with some animation software like this
  15. Illustrator really does handle the pencil tool well, especially the ‘smooth pencil’, man I miss that one!!
  16. I’d imagine that would require Serif releasing a brand new 3D centric product, would be cool though!
  17. Would be great if Serif made an independent Font exporting tool, I’d buy it. I can imagine it would be difficult though... probably time consuming to engineer one good enough to maintain the fidelity of the characters you create, consistently handle kerning etc.
  18. This is a feature I didn’t know I was missing until you mentioned it:)
  19. Have you tried messing around with the features yourself? I’d like to see some tutorials too, or even user submitted work. From my experience, using the pencil tool set to 1 pixel in conjunction with grid ‘snapping’, you get surprisingly satisfying results from a vector focused programme
  20. I’d love this too! I used to use, a Pencil, Smooth Pencil and Eraser combo in Adobe Illustrator all the time
  21. I haven’t use the brush tool myself in a long time, but would be surprised if there’s no pressure sensitivity setup to have a stroke vary when using Apple Pencil. I use the pen/bezier line tool myself when drawing lines. I have control over nodes this way, and then go into Stoke settings and adjust the pressure/width variance of the path in the graph. You could also try drawing freehand with the Pencil tool, and then adjust the pressure graph similarly 🤷🏻‍♂️. I have that pet peeve with how strokes expand too, you’ve gone to the trouble of creating a design with smooth curving lines, only to have it all break down and ruin the edge
